Two problems related to ignition have been reported for the 1998 Mercury Mystique. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving vehicle started smoking. Vehicle was checked by dealer, who advised consumer that fuel was leaking from spark plug wires into the catalytic converter which could have caused vehicle to catch on fire.
At 15mph vehicle shuts off. This could have caused an accident. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.
