One problem related to tire bulge has been reported for the 1998 Mercury Mystique. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Lost 4 tires with less than 35k miles due to sidewall failures. Tires installed on March 2006, lost all four between April 2008 and June 2008. First one had a bulge on the outside sidewall, other 3 were sidewall blowouts. Tires installed on a 1998 Mercury Mystique. Tires were fulda carat assuro, p205/60-15.
