Dash has peeled back by windshield, defroster section popped out, as time progresses the dash keeps peeling back/raising up. . . Eventually, it will be too high to see over. (I am short stature).

The adhesive failed on the leather dash and the dash is warping up in the drivers view and pulling away from the instrument panel. The dealer wants $500 to repair and says it is not covered under the extended warranty this is a manufacturing defect, so why am I paying for the exteded warranty.

The consumer stated that the vinyl of the dashboard was separating from the dashboard and this would result in poor visibility. The vent bowed and had come out and caused the vinyl to pull away from the dash. The consumer was told that the problem was due to a manufacturers defect by two separate Ford dealers. The lip pn the vent was not even 1/4 wide to hold the vinyl. The consumer found that seven other consumers had experienced the same problem two of which were recalled. The consumers vehicle was not covered under the recall.

Warped dashboard (right side), possibly effecting the proper use of the passenger side air bag and causing the defrost vent across the entire dashboard to be lifted out of its proper location, possible causing grievous injuries to anyone involved in an accident in this vehicle.

Dashboard is separating from structure and raising upwards in front of the windshield. As a result, air conditioner vents are not functioning properly. Dealer notified.

At 17,000 glue failed too hold padded covering in place,at this time fixed by dealership described as design flaw. At 32,000 dash fell apart again. This time was told we fixed it once do not have too again,but would repair for approximately $1000. 00. I am a widow on a fixed income and can not do it. I have contacted the dealer ship and Ford motor and was told they would not do any thing else unless I paid for it. The car is basically a good carbut this lets moisture get in between dash and padding from defroster.

While driving instrument panel would fog up, causing a distraction. Underside of dash became unglued on driver's side defogger opening nearest the windshield.

In March of 2002 the dash starting coming unglued and rolling up, which caused my defogger to pop out and not defog my windshield correctly. The car also stalls out when taking off from a starting position or changing to passing gear. The engine has to then be shut off and restarted for it to clear up. This will last about 30 minutes before it happens again.

Consumer's vehicle was involved in a collision travelling approximately 20-25mph and was hit on the passenger's side door. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy. Both front and rear bumpers were off track. The front right & rear doors were pushed 2 feet into the drivers side, with the front & rear seats. The consumer suffered a broken nose , broken clavical in 2 places, 4 broken ribs, facial impairment and cracked the front bridge in mouth. (vehicle was totalled).

16 Structure problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2001

Dashboard expanded and air-vent in dashboard was ejected and had to be removed in order to prevent it becoming airborne in the event of a collision.

17 Structure problem

Dashboard is rising up all the way across the front windshield. Consumer is concerned that airbag may be exposed. Dealer has been contacted.
