Tank Filler Pipe And Cap Problems of Mercury Mystique

: the contact stated there was fuel leakage when the vehicle was being fueled. There is a NHTSA recall, # 99v247000, regarding the fuel system gasoline storage tank assembly filler pipe and cap. The VIN was not included in the recall. Although the manufacturer was alerted, no inspections have been made.

While fueling the vehicle the pump to the gasoline tank kept cutting off. When the contact continued to pump the gasoline it leaked onto the pavement and came out of the opening of the filler tank. It took almost 30 minutes to put half a tank of gasoline into the vehicle. The vehicle has not been to a service dealer yet.

I first started smelling fuel after fueling up my car. Then later I noticed that fuel leaks out from under my car when I put fuel into it. I recently noticed it running out from under the car when I just happen to fill up at a gas station that was on an incline. I took the car to a dealership and they said that the Ford recall #99s24 does not apply to my car. But. . . . It is what problem is. Help please.

The recall regarding the fuel filler pipe vent hose was performed on the vehicle, however it failed. Recall # 99 v 247 000.

Fuel fille r line cracked, causing fuel to leak. Dealer notified, and refused to repair vehicle unless cost goes to consumer. Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter.

Consumer experiencing problem with putting gas into the vehicle. Vehicle would push gas back out every time consumer tries to put gas into the vehicle. Vehicle been in/out of dealer shop four times, and dealer unable to correct the problem.

Gas tank filler lid will not open.

Gas cap failed, causing it to open with trunk release.
