Two problems related to automatic transmission gear indicator have been reported for the 1996 Mercury Sable. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Recall campaign 96v176000 was issued. When engaging the vehicle into park it began to roll. However, this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. The vehicle does not enage in park and will not pass inspection.
Automatic transmission gear broke into the transmission system which almost caused loss of vehicle control. Please provide further information.
