Three problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 1996 Mercury Sable. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
After hitting a deer at 25mph air bags deployed, and then driver's side air bag bursted. Two passengers were injured.
Drive's side airbag deployed, and passenger's side airbag deployed half way, and all these particles came flying everywhere. Consumer felt airbag exploded. Also, noticed a hole the size of a fist in passenger's side air bag.
Driver's and passenger's side airbags deployed without any frontal collision while traveling on hwy at 55-65 mph, vehicle is a rental from hertz rental.
