One problem related to side/rear glass has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Sable. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Arriving home from dinner, found rear glass of my 1999 Mercury Sable wagon had exploded. There was glass all over my drive way. The glass was found up to 5 feet from the vehicle. Police investigated and determined that the rear glass panel in fact exploded from the inside of the vehicle outward, probably due to a change in temperature.
