One problem related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe has been reported for the 1997 Mercury Tracer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Turned key on and the exhaust pipe broke. There was a loud noise and fumes came up in the car. Contacted the dealer, they said warranty ran out a week ago. Vehicle was not covered. Called the manufacturer, was not able to help.
