One problem related to rear window wiper washer motor has been reported for the 1996 Mercury Villager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rear windshield wiper would wipe only once. Able to reset by opening rear glass. This is a known manufacturing defect at the supplier (contamination in the motor).
