Three problems related to gasoline engine have been reported for the 1999 Mercury Villager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Intermittently vehicle will not crank up . Dash indicator lights illuminate, but engine will not start up. Having a negative diagnostic testing. The problem is unknown at current time. Dealer was notified. Please provide more information.
Leased vehicle 6/99. Engine knocked - replace engine 9/99. Replaced 2nd time for same problem 3/99. Still knocks - will probably replace 3rd time.
We are having a lot of trouble with the starting of the vehicle. It wont start easily and it struggles to idle when this occurs. It doesnt occur all the time and the dealer has been unable to diagnose the problem yet. This has been doing it on and off for 2 months now. It will worf fine for 2 days then suddenly junp out and do it again.
