She stated that she had several close calls, almost resulting in several crashes. Also, the stabilizing link was causing problems with the steering. When she turned left or right there was a noise coming from the front end of the driver side wheel. If she hit a hole the vehicle made a loud clunky noise. 5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

On two occasions, while my wife was driving, the engine began to race with no warning, nearly causing an accident. In one case, a pedestrian was in front of the vehicle and would have been severly injured if my wife was unable to keep the car under control. In both cases, the event occurred while she was manuvering in tight confines in a parking lot. The engine began to race and the power steering refuses to respond. She had all she could do with all her strength to keep the car under control by extreme pressure on the brakes. The first incident was reported to condit Ford. The second just happened today and will be reported to condit Ford tomorrow. There was no injury to anyone or damage to any property in these incidents but we do not want to wait until there is damage or injury, to report the problem. My wife successfully put the vehicle into "park" in both cases, after which the engine returned to a normal idle. The incidents happened about two months apart. The first in January, the second just today.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

When air conditioner is turned on while stationary or moving there is an explosion which causes the car to jolt forward momentarily. Although this lasts only a couple of seconds the loud concussion and jolt can cause momentary loss of control and raises the risk of injury. T.
