The air conditioner wouldn't cool, there is freon leaking out somewhere. The dealer said there was nothing wrong untill the warranty ran out, now they said there is a leak. We had a well known named garage look at the Mercury Villager and said that Ford has had problems with the air conditioner leakage from lines under the vehicle. Therefore Ford should fix the problem since its a problem from the factory. The Mercury is only 3 years old, my other vehicle is 5 years old and I have never had a problem with it. This should be fixed under the factory warranty since they known there was a problem and its one reason Ford stopped making the Villager since they were having failures. Also we have had problems with the driver window rolling up and down, have it into the dealership to be fixed and the problem has worsened . Now the window will not roll down or up.

A/c compressor failed with only 46,000 miles on this vehicle. Said compressor is only used during hot season. I think that they installed a substandard/defective compressor on this vehicle. Called a Mercury dealership and was told that I have to pay for the repair/replacement since it is out of warranty. A/c compressors should last more than 46k on a vehicle. Please investigate. Thanks.
Our air cond. Hose needed to be replaced one mo after the warranty exp. Says there was a leak. Cost apprx $500. 00 to replace. Who ever heard of transmission totally shot at 32,000 miles?.

The air conditioning compressor failed. My mechanic indicates that this is a chronic problem with Mercury Villager vans. The accelerator sticks intermittently when trying to accelerate from a stand still, causing a need to press the accelerator harder which causes a jerking of the van.
Air just quits and blows out at 115 degrees and higher. Four unsuccessful attempts to repair.
