The contact owns a 1995 Mercury Villager. The contact stated that the rear brake light illuminated and failed to turn off although the brake pedal was not depressed. After inspecting the vehicle the contact discovered that the plastic bushing located between the brake pedal and the stop light switch had malfunctioned causing the rear brake light to illuminate. The plastic bushing was replaced by the contact. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 116,000.
When radi/ heater or turn signal was in use windshield washer would squirt fluid on windshield. Also, overdrive would kick out, and brake lights on left would go out if lights were used.
