One problem related to battery has been reported for the 2005 Mini Cooper Convertible. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Daughter/CO-owner was driving car. Shifting from 1st in to 2nd gear. Loud clunk or rattle/clicking from unside. Car lost power steering, battery light came on. Could not control vehicle. Had to call tow truck.
