1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

The automatic cvt transmission just down shifted and now won't go into high gear. This will happen on the freeway and will shift and clunk into gear. BMW is aware of the problem with this transmission but won't stand behind their product. It is very dangerous to drive.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2013

Problem with automatic transmission on 2005 Mini Cooper S. Needs replacement $8000+. Only 90k miles. Hundreds of complaints on line regarding cvt transmission defect. Mini cooper/ BMW not admitting problem to public.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2012

Defective cvt transmission! the dealership said that it was no fault of ours that we needed a new transmission, but due to the way this transmission was designed!!!!!!!!.
