One problem related to car accelerates on its own has been reported for the 1997 Mitsubishi Diamante. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
In reverse gear ,backing out of driveway, vehicle suddenly accelerated at full throttle. Brakes were inoperative, did not sto vehicle. Consumer had to throw the vehicle into park in order to stop.
