Two problems related to front suspension upper ball joint have been reported for the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer stated that during a recall replacement of the lower control arms, the dealer discovered that the left side upper control arm was failing due to excessively worn ball joint and should be replaced. The consumer was seeking reimbursement from the manufacturer since these suspension parts failed at the same time.
Consumer complained about a ball joint problem. The wheels can be heard when making a sharp turn. Consumer can hear the rattling from within.
