One problem related to tire sidewall has been reported for the 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
3 tires failed in 1 year -- tread completely separated from outer sidewall (can put your hand inside). In most recent failure, a nail was found to have penetrated tread, causing the air to escape prior to tire failure. Separation runs 360 degrees around the tire.
