One problem related to steering rack and pinion has been reported for the 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Transmission got stuck on 2nd gear, then another occasion in 3rd gear, cause: blown circuit/sensor. . . . Air cond. Does not turn on at all at times, not even the fan, turns on by itself after driving for about 30 mins, cause: a/c fan motor. . . . . Car pulls to the right, even after several alignments and tire adjustments, cause: unknown, still exists.
