Three problems related to automatic transmission cooler have been reported for the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
There is a recall on transmission hose. Consumer took vehicle into dealer, and deaelr did not want to do the job.
Vehicle overheated and there was black smoke coming from underneath. Also, transmission fluid was leaking.
Had 800 miles on vehicle when the transmission started leaking fluids. Took vehicle back to dealer & was informed the LS axle clip had popped out & needed to be replaced.
