Defogger problems of the 2004 Mitsubishi Galant

I own an '04 Mitsubishi Galant and last October the heater stopped working for about 3 weeks and then suddenly started working again. I didn't turn the heater off for the rest of the winter in fear that it may die, again. Once again, this spring, as soon as I turned the heater off and then turned it back on, it wasn't working. I left the heater on starting the beginning of September in hopes that it would just start working on it's own, again. It's almost November and that hasn't happened. I called the local dealership to finally have it fixed correctly and the service guy told me that happens often in this model. This morning I decided to do a search on this little bit of knowledge and I have found a ton of complaints about the exact same thing. I am, obviously, still getting the repair done on Monday (oct 27) but I am curious if you have encountered alot of complaints about this and if there are plans in the near future on a recall for this obvious defect.
