36 Equipment problem of the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 07/17/2016

There seems to be an issue with the bluetooth connection with the car and any cell phone I try to have connected with the car. Mitsubishi told me it was the cell phones fault not the car. So I went and bought an iphone 6s and got rid of my galaxy s5. To try and fix the problem but still the phone refuses to stay connected to the car. This creates a huge issue with talking and talking on the phone while driving. Some calls are extremely important I cannot simply stop the conversation due to the connection lost while driving. This causes a huge issue if you know what I mean. Traveling at speed and having to worry about keeping both hands on the wheel or get a ticket like in some states is a dilemma I face daily.

37 Equipment problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 07/05/2016

I was driving to work and the car started acting strange. It would only switch to select gears. I took it straight to a Mitsubishi service where they informed me that transmission was failing. Then they told me it would cost $12000 to repair. They also said the car needs a new awd differential pump but that would be free. Upon my research and what one of the techs told me awd pump can screw up the transmission. How can they not cover the cost of repair for transmission if a faulty part caused it.

38 Equipment problem of the 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 05/11/2016

Recall info: "the inside and outside surfaces of the front cross members used on certain vehicles if exposed long term to snow melt water and anti-freezing agents may corrode due to insufficient performance of the rust protection. Should corrosion occur, a lower control arm could become detached resulting in loss of vehicle control and potential collision. In may 2016 we had to have the lower control arm replaced along with the front sway bark link assembly. " I believe this is all part of the corrosion mentioned above in the recall. Car was moving when lower control arm became detached. $285. 00 to replace lower control arm & front sway bar link.

39 Equipment problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 05/04/2016

Etacs failure. Loss of ability to signal turns, loss of wiper function below highest setting, loss of rear wiper, loss of daytime running light, loss of high beams, loss of wiper fluid control. Loss of function came on suddenly, mis spring 2016 returned intermittently over summer, then failed completely beginning of October. A recall for this exact same issue has been released for my vehicle type of a later year. , but my car is not included in the current recall.

40 Equipment problem of the 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 02/05/2016

Slave cylinder internal and there should be a recall because there are several complaints about these internal slave cylinders in these model years before Mitsubishi realized they needed to make them external. Having to replace them is extremely expensive and requires new clutch, pressure plate and all other components because of the fluid the cylinder leaks all over the inside of the transmission. They should recall these if they expect people to continue buying their vehicles. I for one will not buy another Mitsubishi because the only recap they have actually sent me was for the control arms that I already replaced on my own because even though they sent me the recall they also noted on there that the parts were not available for any dealership at this point. Very aggravated with this company and think they should treat owners and our safety as a higher priority. This slave cylinder almost caused me to get into an accident because it would not come out of gear because all the fluid was being squirted into the rest of the clutch components. Very disappointed and wishing I would have never purchased this vehicle now. Take better care of your loyal customers and our safety Mitsubishi or you will keep losing them one by one. It is an easy fix for you to recall these internal junk slave cylinders and either replace them at the very least or even convert them to external like you did a year or two after you obviously realized your mistake and bad idea.

41 Equipment problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 01/11/2016

The temperature knob broke easily because it was hard to turn making the defroster impossible to use which is a safety hazard. Furthermore the cruise control was always faulty to begin with but now it isn't even usable. Automatic transmission also loves to lurch into 3rd gear while slowing down at the same time and then jumping back into the speed I was previously going. This issue usually happens at speeds lower than 50 mph.

42 Equipment problem of the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 12/18/2015

This car we own was in a accident the whole front end was pushed in cause it hit a Mercury mountaineer. The geico adjuster couldnt beleive that the airbags did not deploy nor the seatbelt retracted! the only thing that saved my wife was the seatbelt for a sec and hitting the steering wheel. The adjuster also had said that the sensors for the air bags were tripped and it did not work. This is a huge safety issue! geico is filing a subrogation claim against Mitsubishi since we called mistsubishi and they didnt want to do anything about it. Marias at mistubishi just said to file a claim with our insurance without even sending their own people to check out the vehicle. Marieas can be reached at 18886487820 claim number 1254613189. He didnt even have the courtesy to send his own investigators to find out what happened! the whole front end of the Mitsubishi Lancer was pushed in and was pronounce a total loss from geico. Geico's examiner was jose mejia 3053079614. Something needs to be done about this before someone gets killed! my wife at time of accident was on her way home on highway 874 southbound.

43 Equipment problem of the 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 12/08/2015

Catalytic converter overheating emissions recall. Second is the inside and outside surfaces of the front cross members used on certain vehicles. It was a recall on the catalytic converter overheating. I need to get my car fix.

44 Equipment problem of the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/01/2015

I didn't think nothing of it until it happened every single time I tried to talk with my bluetooth on. Every single time that I have my iphone 6s plus connected to my bluetooth on my 15 Lancer, it always disconnects and then reconnects in a few seconds or right under a minute. At first I thought it might have been where I didn't have good service, but then it started happening when I was in town with perfect service! something has to be done about this because like the last person's complaint about this, I cannot afford to lose important phone calls and all of my calls are important business calls! I hope others make enough complaints about this so that the manufacturer can do something to fix the problem!.

45 Equipment problem of the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 07/15/2015

Acd/ayc pump has completely stop working in my vehicle. I took my vehicle to be service and the person who was doing the service on my car told me that the acd/ayc pump has gone out and I need a replacement. I found that weird, because I have not driven my car for roughly about a month and for an issue to pop up was very weird. After doing research, I seems that multiple people have the same issue were these pumps go out unexpected. There are only 1400-1600 of these cars made year in the states and to see many people have this problem in the u. S. And around the world mind boggling to many of us. Mitsubishi needs to find another solution or remedy to this issue. Since I live in the south, my local dealership is not wanting to cover this and I travel along the east coast with my car.

46 Equipment problem of the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 06/21/2015

While driving I had all 3 acd lights come on. Upon further investigating and a trip to the dealership I was told my acd pump was bad and I would need a new one. This is a common problem in these cars that still hasn't been fixed with the newer models. I was quoted 2400 dollars just for the pump, not including labor, and that doesn't guarantee that it won't happen again.

49 Equipment problem of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 01/06/2015

I received 3 letters in the mail regarding a important safety recall concerning my drive belt system I called the local mistubishi dealer ship as well as their corporate headquarters. They informed me that the part that needs to be fixed is on back order. I do not feel safe in my car and its been since oct 2014 its over 6 months and I've not heard from either the dealer ship or the corporate headquarters. Every time you call and ask for an update they say they don't have a confirmed time when the part will be in stock and they continue to give me the run around. At this rate my car will grow old, before anything can be done.

50 Equipment problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/13/2014

4wd service required light popped up immediately when accelerating. Acd pump may have failed. Mitsubishi does not cover this as it is not "part of the drivetrain". Can be dangerous when pump goes out.

51 Equipment problem of the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 10/28/2014

I contacted Mitsubishi of libertyville on 10/28/14. I was looking to set up an appointment to take care of the recall. They took my information, and told me the part(s) had to be ordered and that they would contact me when the part(s) had arrived. I have still yet to hear from them.

53 Equipment problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

Climate control panel/system got stiff to turn from cold to heat and eventually the knob/stem of climate control panel broke. Now it is impossible to defrost windows which results unsafe driving. I have happed to know from internet that this incident happened to many Mitsubishi Lancer 2002-2005 customers . Mitsubishi is not taking any action to fix this problem for these customers.

54 Equipment problem of the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

When hitting the volume control/hands free system buttons on the steering wheel they get mixed up. If I hit volume down it triggers the hands free system so I have to hit volume up which works in order to get the volume down button to finally correct itself. It's only just started doing this within the past couple months.

55 Equipment problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 05/10/2014

I stopped at a light, the when I went to make a left turn my dash began to flash a "service required" light at me. After doing some investigation, it turns out that it is an extremely well known and unaddressed issue with the car's acd pump failing. It's a design flaw that costs thousands of dollars to fix, but failure of the part is practically guaranteed. Why there's no recall yet is completely ridiculous.

56 Equipment problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 04/13/2014

I was pulling out of a parking spot and my awc light came on. I took it to the dealer and they told me that there was nothing wrong with my awd pump. I had to pay a $45. 00 diagnostic fee for them to look at it. I am worried that the pump will eventually fail completely and I will out of luck. I know that the pump goes bad on these cars, as I have read a ton of different complaints about their ralliart/evo having the same issue.

57 Equipment problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 02/26/2014

On the panel that controls temperature my knobs are either broken or sticking. I bought the car used and only the heat worked. Now a year later the heat/cold knob is broken off. The knob that controls the vents sticks and I have to hold it while trying to defrost my front and side windows. I went on the internet and found this is a common occurrence and don't understand while the temperature control panel hasn't been a recall issue. It makes driving an issue in various temperature changes. Thankfully the back window defrost is a button not a knob.

58 Equipment problem of the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

2010 Mitsubishi Lancer (red) clear coat protection over paint began peeling 3 years ago. Since, the clear coat protection has spread from hood to rooftop, and around windshield. Many discussion threads have additional owners complaining about the same problem.

59 Equipment problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 06/12/2013

There is an all wheel traction control pump for one of the cars main features. This pump is located directly behind the rear wheel. When you live in an area that is cold and the roads are salted the pump gets splashed with salty road water and corrodes the pump. This leads the pump to fail and extremely low miles. The worst part is that for some reason Mitsubishi does not cover this under its pumps or power train warranty. It is also and incredibly expensive part. My part failed before 40,000 miles.

60 Equipment problem of the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

Acd pump failed and dealership wouldn't cover it car was still under warranty!!.

61 Equipment problem of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

The car is displaying an s-awc service light, it has yet to be diagnosed by the dealership but I have brought it in previously for the same issue. Looking online there is a whole mass of forums stating that at 40,000+ miles the ayc pump breaks. This seems rather suspect given so many individuals are experiencing the same problem within the same time span. Mitsubishi has been reportedly turning down warranty coverage for this under their power-train warranty, while I am unsure if they will do the same for me, the issue is seemingly prevalent enough that they should know about it.

62 Equipment problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 05/17/2013

I was traveling at approximately 45-50 mph when my awd service required light came on. Steering /traction on the car was immediately different and not as easy as normal.

63 Equipment problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 12/03/2012

The climate control knob was hard to turn and final broke so I can't use my car in the winter because I can't turn it to heat and I have 2 young children. There should be a recall this has appended to thousands and its a safety hazard in multiply ways.

64 Equipment problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/20/2012

Heater/ac knob broke off, unable to switch to heat, knob has been very difficult to turn, investigating problem and have found this to be a common event with Mitsubishi vehicles during this release. Wondering if Mitsubishi has issued a recall to correct the defect. Have found its going to be very pricy to fix, living on a fixed income and unable to afford the fix. Have had the car 14 years bought it in 2002 off the showroom floor not ready to give it up. . .

65 Equipment problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

The knob to adjust my heating and cooling broke off. Now I am stuck with freezing cold air blowing all year round. This effects my visibility at times because I can not use defroster. I was told to replace the unit would be $300+ labor. Seeing as though they have to take the whole dash apart to fix, it is quite expensive. I have read online many other people are having this same issue. I think if Mitsubishi gave us a bogus part that is guaranteed to break, they should have to replace/recall it.

66 Equipment problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/29/2010

My 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer heater knob broke off and I am unable to get the defroster to work. This has been an ongoing problem as this is a material defect in hundreds if not thousands of Lancer automobiles. Please help force Mitsubishi to recall and fix this dangerous problem.

67 Equipment problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 10/07/2010

I turned the knob to heat. It was pretty stiff but it would move to cold temperature fine. I tried it again and the knob and part of the shaft broke off. I had to drive to work in the cold. Good thing I worked about 10 minutes away. Today I was searching on the internet to see how much it would cost. That's when I saw a comment saying there was a TSB issue on 04 model Lancers. Luckily I found this website. Hope Mitsubishi would do something about this, its October and I really need my heater.

68 Equipment problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

My daughter's 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES no longer provides heat. As in many other cases, the knob has broken off!! why is this not the subject of a recall? she has no heat, it's winter, and she has no means to defrost her windshield. For a while she was able to turn the mechanism using needle-nosed pliers. Now, even that doesn't work and she has no heat, no means to defrost her windshield and windows reliably, and this is a safety hazard.

69 Equipment problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 09/30/2009

The heat/ac knob in my 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer will not turn. It has been difficult for years, but for fall/winter 2009 I had to have a mechanic crawl under the dash and force it with pliers, then I left it that way all winter. Not very safe or convenient. I'm looking at a very expensive repair from Mitsubishi which they should pay for. It is a safety issue, you can't defrost your windows without heat, nor should you have to use such lousy equipment. Mitsubishi needs to step up and issue a recall, I've seen this complaint all over the internet.

70 Equipment problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 09/24/2009

Heater control knob was hard to turn since purchase of vehicle and eventually broke off. Now I am forced to adjust temperature using pliers (or suffer paying $1,000 to fix problem). Not easy to adjust with pliers while driving and experiencing a change in weather conditions. Now also fearful of electrical shock when trying to adjust temperature with pliers. Known defect will not be repaired or covered by manufacturer's warranty.
