3 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/07/2022

While driving the vehicle the headlights will turn off at random intervals. The passenger side rear tail light is out and remains out despite changing the bulb. Water leaks through a gap in the body into the light and the trunk. Headlights need to be reliable in order to ensure safety and visibility, especially at night and during inclement weather. My father is a retired auto mechanic and has been doing his best to troubleshoot the problem. I am experiencing financial hardship at the moment and I cannot afford to bring my vehicle anywhere that would charge. There are no warnings, the lights just stop working periodically and the tail light stopped working about a week ago.

Failure Date: 01/29/2018

Over time the vehicles original headlamps have faded to a point where it is affecting driver visibility. This was not the case with glass fixtures many years ago. I have noticed this issue on many automobiles since the adoption of plastic headlamps. Based on performance, it is obvious plastic headlamps are causing issues with visibility and should be banned or at least examined for a better solution.

7 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/24/2017

Takata recall - I took my car in to hickory Mitsubishi in hickory, nc to get the airbag fixed. I picked up my car in the afternoon. It started to get dark about an hour later, so I turned my lights on. I have no interior lights on my car. I can't see my odometer, shift column, etc. I had to travel a significant distance to get this repair since there is no longer a Mitsubishi dealer where I live. Now I have to go all the way back there and sit for another 2. 5 hours while they try to figure out what they did to my electrical system. I'm not sure I want them to even touch my car again.
