1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 07/29/2020

Upon inspection of the undercarriage in the rear, areas of severe corrosion has developed underneath the rear on the aluminum subframe bar that holds the rear differential and other suspension components in place such as the rear differential & lateral control bars that can surely compromise the cars ability to drive if unnoticed. Additionally the fuel lines along the gas tank, as well surrounding surfaces on the driver side rear, have developed noticeable corrosion as well that is also proving to be a large area of concern. I am certainly concerned for my safety when operating this and the vehicles road worthiness because of these areas. This vehicle is by no means heavily modified at all, the vehicle is never operated beyond its limitations/aggressively as it's always been great for me as is, and it resembles exactly the way it did when it left the factory. Sourcing original and dot approved replacement parts has become very difficult and it leaves me at a standstill. Please if there isn't some kind of road worthy directive in regards to this I believe there should be because it can certainly compromise safety for driver in command as well as other drivers on the roads. To whom it may concern and whomever reading this, I hope my information came off clear and is considered. I greatly appreciate you taking the time observe this and making a prominent decision. I can provide additional photos and videos upon request as well. Thank you for your time.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 03/20/2013

Received vehicle at 10km, after 2 oil changes, at 16000km miliege dropped from 700km on a tank of gas to 300km tank of gas. At 24000km heavy transmission and engine noises occurred. Gears slipping out while accelerating causing rpms to shoot up to 6000-7000 while vehicle not moving. Timing belt and pulleys not working properly causing to much engine noise. Metal grinding and whistling sound coming from under carriage of vehicle. Rear differential and cv joint problem. Reported problem to dealership and techincians each time I go in. Their response is its just tire noise and your vehicle is running smoothly each time. Now at 68,000 km, rear differential is gone, engine barely holding up, suspension on driver side is is lower than passenger side. Wheel bearing noises present. 4x4 awc system isn't working. Vehicle is dragging and is at quarter efficiency. On time with service and oil change, keep bringing up same complaints and reported back that its just tire noise. All 4 tires changes, brakes changed and rotors. Now that things are breaking down. Dealership at bank street Mitsubishi denies doing any negligence over the course of 4 years and saying our techs wouldn't have missed those problems. Vehicle taken to 6 local mechanics and all reporting same problem, taken to other Mitsubishi dealerships and reported negligence on technicians and mechanics from bank street Mitsubishi that these issues should have been done in the past since they are defects. Called Mitsubishi canada. Manager there says our techs are one of the best at that location. Now they want to void warranty due to their mistakes since parts need to be replaced. Service manager doesn't want high invoice bills. While repairing parts, techs damaging others. And not reporting it. Making costumers pay for techs mistakes. Issue still on going. Manager and techs avoiding accountability for their actions.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 07/21/2012

While driving home in 100 degree weather with a 3/4 full gas tank there was suddenly a strong fuel smell coming from the front air conditioning vents. The a/c system was in recirculate mode. The smell was so strong that I started to get dizzy. I opened all the windows and pulled over at my first chance to look for a leak. I did not find any leaks in the engine bay or underneath the car. I was almost home so I started the car to proceeded home. While driving I smelled the gas fumes again, this time I turn the a/c system to fresh air and the smell went away. I then turned the system between fresh and recirculate several times and the small was always on the recirculate side. I believe there is something venting into the cabin of the car but I can not find it. This is a serious safety issues as someone could become dizzy or faint from the fumes and crash.
