I am the original owner of this vehicle. During the last state inspection I was told and shown the cross member bar is starting to rust. In researching cross member bars with Mitsubishi this seems to be an ongoing problem with their vehicles. I would like them to replace this part on my vehicle, too, since there is a current recall on cross member bars on later vehicles and models.

My 2019 Mirage kept shutting off at random times. Although it started right back at first now it won't start at all. I was driving and with no warning my car shuts off and I'm on a pretty busy highway and I have to steer it off the road traffic flying by me. My so 2 years is in the car as well and his safety as mine was put in jeopardy and is something that needs to be fixed right away. And needs to be first on recall list.

So after my car at about 2,000 miles on it my front strut mounts gave out I had them inspected and was told that they were bad the car was practically brand new I was having a lot of noise coming from the front end and I noticed that my car took a lot longer to brake than it should. And I believe that this is a safety concern because it shouldn't be going out that soon and the increased breaking distance associated with it increases the risk of accidents. And the strut mounts should not be bad from that early on. Also another problem that my vehicle has had that I haven't gotten diagnosed yet is there is a popping sound coming from the transaxle where the axle goes into the transmission and a delay in acceleration sometimes and other times my car randomly jolts forward. And I have to explanation as to why. And the third problem that I've had from about the same mileage as my car randomly not turning on though not a safety concern unless you really need to get somewhere it still shouldn't have that problem with so little miles and it's never been in an accident. I just remembered one other thing my car rolls if the parking brake is not on which I feel like that is a safety concern it will roll about a good four or five inches and it is really sketchy and it does not have enough mileage on it to be doing this and I have never been in an accident it started doing this around the same time all these problems arose around about 2,000 miles on my car and I have to have my e-brake on just to feel comfortable to park it and I have a friend who also has a Mitsubishi and hers doesn't do that and I feel like it has something to do with the popping sound in the transmission area.
When having to brake with any suddenness at all, I met two extremes. They either engaged so abruptly everything was thrown forward, or they failed to engage enough. Sudden- I describe this type of braking as when being cut in front of. The necessity to brake in this manner would throw my dogs and belongings into the floor. It happened frequently enough to make an impression. It seemed irregular to me. Extreme- #1: I encountered a pile-up of traffic unexpectedly and outside of the usual slowing areas for the highway. I had to slam on my brakes. The car did not slow sufficiently. The dogs were not thrown to the floor. I avoided collision by moving to another lane. A terrifying moment, but the brakes resumed normal functions under normal conditions. #2- as I drove around a mountainous bend and negotiated some traffic, I was faced with a car at a full stop at a pedestrian crosswalk a short distance ahead of me. I slammed my brakes. The car didn't slow enough. Nothing was thrown forward until the collision. As my foot was fully pressing down on them, I question if the brakes malfunctioned under extreme braking again. Normal- (2000 miles on the car)I approached a stoplight at the end of a steep road. The brakes made a grinding sound and a mechanical pop-like sound. I let off of them then reapplied slowly several times until the car stopped. The sound repeated every time I braked. It sounded as if I continued to brake, they would break. The noises dissipated after I continued. I reported it at my first oil change. He said they were fine. On review at the salvage lot, the brakes appear normal yet remarkably shiny and unused for 14,500 miles. Other: the airbags did not deploy though the car totaled. The display was often in french though english was selected. I do not know if the brakes are in any way run by the computerized part of the car so I add this detail.

In on about 2018 drivers side window motor failed with window in down position on interstate in thunderstorm causing low visibility and rain and some hail to enter. Dealer changed or repaired. Then about 08/10/20 the window motor failed again. Soon afterwards the front passenger side window motor failed causing electrical smell / smoke to engulf car interior. I've tried mulitple times for Mitsubishi to reply. Today,. A spoke person told me I need to take the car into the dealership for inspection. Note:. I can hear the motor on driver's window when pushing the up/ down button.

Lost of acceleration or sudden acceleration, hello, I purchased this Mitsubishi Mirage 2017, and I drove it for 2000 miles. I have noticed the lost of acceleration or sometimes sudden acceleration without pressing the accelerator. I am reporting my Mitsubishi to be on the safe side, and I am asking if this problem can be a trigger for a recall about this car. I wanted to stop for a stop sign, but the car did a sudden accelerate, and I had to press the brakes hard. I had 3 passengers in the car, and the acceleration was losing power, and I had to drive my car very slow. But when I dropped the passengers, the car was driving fine.
I had to make complete sudden stop when I had to put on the brakes quickly to avoid wreck. I was in the fast lane and when I went to start to go again it didn't want to accelerate again. I had to pull over to shoulder and shut off car and restart it. If this is a safety feature than its not a good one since you need to be able to go in the fast lane. It could of resulted in somebody to wreck in the back of me. I have had the computer resetting as result of I believe speed control issue or whatever the last recall was. I was on the interstate going at a decent speed when I made sudden stop.

Is there a wind standard for vehicles on highways? I know whenever there is wind on interstate no matter what strength this vehicle struggles through it. Not sure body is designed properly for highway where there is always wind. I'm having hard time keeping control of it and keeping from accident since I'm blown easily away. Also it shouldn't matter whether windows or down or not. Car should be designed to be able to handle all conditions. I know wind is something you have to deal with but this vehicle seems very tough to handle in it. I was driving 1998 Ford taurus and hit wind but didn't have this much difficulty driving in wind. I was wondering if there was a wind safety standard on vehicles and if not should there be one. I know I put todays date on when it happened but have experienced this wind danger on many dates since having vehicle in a month and a half.
Hi 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage is a terrible car I feel unsafe with this car I had to replace for 5 tires I complained to the company and the company only says it's part of it is wear and tear I didn't fix my brakes 2 times already and now I have to break change the brakes in the back we had this car for 2 years and I'm having so much trouble with it.
Push button start system concerns: I can turn off the car while the car is in gear by pushing the start button. I tested this in my driveway moving slow in reverse, then again moving slow in drive. I tried this because a friend asked about the possibility of this happening. The start button only works in park and neutral with the brake pedal pushed. I have safety concerns as more cars are using this technology,.
I have a Honda fit that is recalled. Honda set me up with enterprise to get a free rentall. The rental a Mitsubishi merage has a bad VIN #. I cannot get any info on it? also, the so called free rental enterprise wanted 50 dollars for whatever, witch I should have never done, max out that card. I need to find out about this car, and sue both parties VIN#ml32a3hjohhoo3355 thanks.
Takata recall. I purchased my Mirage in Feb of this year, I noticed that after I had my car at a complete stop it felt like someone ran into the back of car, so I took the car in on March 28th and they said that it was a transmission malfunction so they had to replace the transmission. So after they replaced the transmission and I went and picked my car back up I noticed that the breaks felt like they weren't right, it felt like I had to press the break down so hard to get my car to come to a complete stop, so I then also noticed that when I did break my breaks started to make a weird noise. Now I don't know much about cars and this was my first vehicle and I at least know that I should not be having this many issues already, at this point I am very irritated and angry because I have to deal with all these problems. This past Saturday 04/16/2016 I was driving home from philadelphia PA after visiting a friend and my breaks locked, I went to push the break pedal and it wouldnt go down, thank god that there was no ther vehickes infront of me because I would of hit some one, I only usemy car for work and to take my daughter to doctors appts, to go visit my dad and sister and also to the grocery store.

This car was bought on 05/03/2015. Between 05/07/2015 and 05/29/2015 I noticed small brown spots appear along the paint's surface of the vehicle (hood, roof, between doors). Although the spots can be removed with wax and polish process, the spots re-appear within days. Under the suspicion for corrosion, I inspected the vehicle thoroughly, noticing that the mechanical parts below the car were excessively corroded. The dealership and a Mitsubishi inspector considered these conditions to be normal. The car was bought new. Having at this moment less than 500 miles of use, I considered the corrosion level to be not typical. The dealership or service center did not respond for the corroded parts or paint. Safety concern is the risk of a mechanical component premature failure due to corrosion.
This vehicle was bought as new on 05/03/2015. On 05/05/2015, after starting the vehicle, waiting for heat up, all the indicators of the instrument panel went on (service engine soon, abs, traction control, tire pressure, etc. ). Also the back light of the instrument panel began to blink, and a continuous beep sound or code could be heard. While this behavior occurred, the vehicle's rpm became unstable, as if the car was going to stall and turn off. After a few minutes I turned the vehicle off and back on again. The conditions did not repeat except for the service engine soon indicator. I used the car normally and the next day the ses indicator was off by itself. Diagnostic tool did not detect error codes. On 06/21/2015 the condition repeated again with the same pattern. The service centers have not made further verification of this issue. Also an inspector from Mitsubishi considered it a minor issue since the vehicle's computer is not presenting codes. The safety concern is the risk that this behavior may occur in the middle of the road while driving.
The roof is rusty.
The contact owns a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage. The clips that secures the floor-mats to the floorboard has fractured. This condition causes the floor-mat to shift under the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but a technician stated that there was not a remedy for the failure. The current mileage was 30,831 the failure mileage was 50,000. Updated 01/20/10
