Since I purchased this veh, it never occurred to me as to how often I was having to have the brakes replaced and components replaced. A friend told me to check recalls for Mitsubishi and now I find the brake system has a recall. Well due to me being way past my warranty the recall does not help me, but from what I hear the dealer refuses to make these free repairs. Refund for all consumers who brought the things. No accidents or injury at this point.
While driving at any speed and when depressing the brakes consumer can felt vibration in the steering wheel. Sears auto center informed the consumer that the front shocks needed to be replaced. Changed the front shocks, but vibrations was still evident.
Vibrations occur in the steering wheel at moderate speeds, with visible shaking occurring at times. After several visits to the service department, the regional manager met with me and told me this is common in these vehicles. When I purchased this vehicle in sept. 2001, I had the expectation that a wheel balancing would remedy the situation. A wheel balancing removed most of the vibration, but the residual vibrations/shaking is unacceptable. It's very upsetting to pay $25,000 for a vehicle that provides such a poor driving experience. I regret that I bought it.
Vehicle has had 5 alignment adjustments done. Vehicle checked by dealer, who could not advise why problem continued to occur. Alignment problems began at 9000 miles.
Vehicle drifts to the right and pulls right when braking.
Alignment is off. Also, front brakes squeak. The rear is bottoming out when passangers are in the car. This makes the car hard to handle when on the highway or surface streets.
