The defrost does not work well enough to kept window clear for driving. The anti skid electronics keeps locking out the transmission and it will not shift above 3 rd gear. Causing a drive speed limit below the required highway minimum. Have taken it in to the dealer and they charged me to fix it but the problem is recurring.
Main control unit 8637c096 failed and was replaced. Wipers failed to operate. Dealer replaced module. Very expensive. This car had a lot of wiper motor and other recalls.
Mitsubishi motors has been contacted several times in the past about the etacs system being faulty. The windshield wipers on this particular car went out in February, 2017, at which time they were contacted and rudely refused culpability. The car has had recall-related services completed: 2 windshield wiper recalls and a corrosion-related recall. I was told by the Mitsubishi tech in asheville, nc that the recall on the wipers did not cover the faulty etacs, "which is a common repair on 06-11 Mitsubishis. " he was more than happy to give me a quote for more than $1,000 to replace the defective etacs. We've replaced coil springs that snapped in two as I pulled out from my driveway with my children in tow - not covered by the recall because the mileage on the vehicle was 3,800 miles over Mitsubishi's pre-set mileage limit. I have had numerous problems out of the vehicle: coil springs snapped in two, etacs failure, (still) non-functioning windshield wipers, corroded/rotted exhaust that cost nearly $1,000 to repair - not replace but to repair -, electrical failures related to headlights/interior lights/bluetooth/cruise control, and severe cross member corrosion. I have reached out to Mitsubishi motors several times since purchasing the vehicle, and other than speaking to extremely rude representatives three times by phone, no one has ever responded to me about my concerns. Most concerning right now: the anti-corrosion that was applied by the Mitsubishi dealership should have been a complete replacement of the front and back subframes, as both are completely rotten and crumbling from rust! my daughter had been driving this vehicle with her baby in tow until recently! it is completely unacceptable that Mitsubishi motors has not been held accountable and forced to fix these issues!.
Speedometer is impossible to read under certain lighting conditions- also wish to know if the air bag is being recalled. There is a clunking noise when backing up with the steering wheel turned. The dealer has replaced the hub bearings twice and it is still making this noise.
Several electrical problems, my steering wheel has intermittent electrical outages. This effects the cruise control set button, the voice connect button. My rear passenger window gets jerky with an up or down motion causing the window to come out of its position and get stuck. My front inside lights either work or don't, depending on their mood. My speakers come in and out also when they want- if its a song they like, they'll work. Also, when my car is running and in park, my rear lights on the driver side don't come on. Once it is in drive or reverse, they do. . . Oh and my windshield cracks from under the edge where it connects to the car?.
All power outlets in the car are inoperable. I have taken the car into the dealer 5-6 times to have them all reset. I am told it is from using a phone charger (and I have even tried new/different phone chargers after each incident). On the last visit, I was told this is becoming a common problem, and the easiest fix is not to use a phone charger, and to use it only as a cigarette lighter. I've never heard of a car being unable to handle a phone charger. Taking it in to the dealer over and over is becoming incredibly annoying.
Headlights, dim when air conditioning cycles on. Also blower motor and all other lights dim or slow.
