general problems of the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

The contact stated that the vehicle had been gifted to her grandson by his father, however when the vehicle was being inspected the contact noticed that the rear tail lights had not illuminated when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

My vehicle has been recalled. Mitsubishi insists I take it to one of their dealerships. The nearest dealership is 228 miles and 3. 5 hours roundtrip. I believe they should allow me to go a different local dealership that is 20 mins. Roundtrip to fix the problem and that they should pay for it as well. It is their mistake why do I have to pay for it with my time and money? please help.

The brake switch malfunctioned. There is failure of the brake lamps to illuminate when the brakes are applied. This can result in an accident. I was told that my particular vehicle was not included in the initial recall for this issue. This vehicle should be included in the recall.
