Engine and yes available for inspection. I had been driving then all of a sudden the service engine immediately light started rapidly flashing and the car would hardly go. Turned around parked at home, towed to dealership where they said the engine compressor was not working and I would need a rebuilt engine for over $5000. Towed it back home and now looking for a new car. There were no warning lights or any other symptoms prior to this happening. It was an all of a sudden warning. If I had been on the freeway, my safety would have been at risk as it just died without warning.

The cvt transmission really needs to be rechecked and recalled. I’ve found too many issues and the same complaints but can’t find a recall on it at all.

The engine shuts off while at idle for stop lights, stop signs, and on occasion brief stops such as reversing and turning. The battery has been replaced, the alternator has been checked, & the catalytic converter was checked no problems there. However the problem persists with no warning/engine/battery light on. This is a big problem when trying to safely operate the vehicle especially if others are expecting me to go and then the car shuts off.

My 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport is having problems shifting and accelerating. There is a transmission service needed light that comes on the dash when turned on. A few months ago I had to start manually shifting which barely got me by. Recently it would not go over 25 mph, and continued to go slower and slower until it stopped and would not accelerate at all. I have had to drive on the far right of the road with my hazards on and barely made it from a to b while cars zoomed past me. I had to turn the car off and back on which helped a little. I feel like when it is low on gas, that also makes it worse? I have taken the vehicle to the dealership that sold it to me who confirmed the faulty transmission and they gave me a printed quote for a new transmission. The mileage is at 89,811 and I've had it for almost 2 years. I first started noticing issues shortly after purchase when it would shake when idle once in a while or would have a hard time accelerating after stopping. The first time it would not accelerate was about a year ago. I no longer can rely on this vehicle for transportation.

Purchased my used vehicle at my local dealer, in which,they just received into inventory and had not been reconditioned at all ,prepping for resale,but this vehicle was still offered to me in a nonformal fashion; since my low credit,low deposit,and prior repos that it be best if I choose that one. The vehicle has displayed symptoms of shuddering since day one. Test drive was uneventful since we remained low speed. However, immediately and if ever drive 55-75mph there would have shuddering and erratic rpm readings but would settle once slowed and time passed. The dealer was informed the next day of this + of all oil change,car wash,detail, inspection,etc. That were also offered as apart of the deal as well and they only picked up the vehicle once ,second day after financing vehicle,but they only installed a "gps" device within the vehicle and ignored and downplayed all my requests and accounts of the details of the matter entirely. The problem persisted and the dealer personnel gave me the run around and errors electronically that pushed this matter past warranty dateline and they informed me they were not obligated to any action. 2. 5 - 3 years have passed living with these unresolved issues gotten used to it until last month on the freeway the "service transmission" light illuminated it shuddered uncontrollably to a sudden stop where it was very difficult to steer to safe location,but once I stopped the vehicle would always start up but not would it accelerate forward or backwards every time. Sometimes yes ,and some not so much. Had to be towed home and seemed to drive about half of a block distance only as have had been completely cool,as opposed to warm or hot and attempting to move forward. Shows all the symptoms of safety campaign sr-16-006. Local repair shop was uncertain diagnosing ,but tried a complete transmission fluid exchange, which was a fail. As far as recalls dealership,too costly at the moment for tow to/from+inspection,since the recall shows error.

I bought my vehicle towards the end of October with less than 40000 miles and I keep encountering an acceleration issue and high engine rpm, the issues periodically 'resolve' them self only to come back a little further down the road, the issues I encounter aren't exactly the same but I think they are very closely related/connected to each other; accelerating from low speed (0-30): I tend to notice an acceleration problem around 0-30 mph where I have my foot on the gas pedal and the vehicle is moving and is accelerating, acceleration is very, very slow and it feels as though something in/on my vehicle is giving what I can only describe as 'resistance' to accelerate, the feeling is very weird and I have never felt anything quite like it and I lack the vocabulary to truly explain what the issue feels like but I do know for certain that something is wrong. High engine speeds during 0-~60 mph acceleration: when I need to accelerate to merge into traffic going 45-65 mph (accelerating from 0-30 mph range) my engine speed approaches 6000 rpm but never enters the red area behind the gauge, I often need to accelerate from the 0-30 mph range to 45-65 mph range to jump onto a highway or freeway and my engine speeds get much higher than anything I have ever experienced before. I suspect the automatic shifting mechanism is broken or is made poorly. I have brought my vehicle into a genuine Mitsubishi dealership and had them run a complete diagnostic, even a diagnostic on my transmission with everything coming back fine. I honestly don't even know what the issue is but I have documents verifying that nothing is wrong with my vehicle but no diagnosis, however I was told that my fluid was good for another year, the transmission might still be "learning' my driving style, and my vehicle has a brake 'priming' system that helps stop your vehicle in heavy traffic.

This happens almost all the time - when driving at city street speed of 25 mph and under my car shakes so much and does not accelerate and feels like it is going to shut down. On 3 occasions I was rear ended because of this and one time was with a huge sanitation truck with my children inside the car. I have taken this car to the dealer and the Mitsubishi dealer to be looked at and help to no avail it still does it. I have reported this to Mitsubishi motors and was given a case number but to date no one has contacted me nor helped me. The vehicle was taken to back to the independent mechanic where a compressor test was performed. The mechanic noticed that cylinder one was running extremely low and the motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,300.

Intermittent rough idle and fluctuating rpm. . Afraid vehicle will accelerate by its self may cause accident waiting at a stop sign or red light.

We purchased our 2015 Outlander in Feb 2017 with only 25,000 miles. It was manufactured in July 2015 with a 2. 0 liter engine. There is a recall for shuddering engines for this vehicle during this time, however out VIN did not appear on the recall list. When I am stopped at a red light or slow down, then try to speed up, the transmission shutters and jumps forward. There is now another issue resulting in the vehicle to increase rpm's without gaining speed. With further inspection, there was no transmission fluid in the reserve. This vehicle is now only at 34,000 miles. I scheduled a warranty maintenance visit, the dealer doesn't have availability for another month.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed service. The vehicle was taken back to puente hill Mitsubishi where it was diagnosed that the transmission and the cvt unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. No further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

My 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport developed transmission problem and warning light came on including engine service light. It only has 34173 miles on it. I researched that it had a recall for a defective transmission hose assembly but Mitsubishi no longer lists the recall. I would like to see that my vehicle gets repaired as the manufacturing date of the vehicle falls in the time when this issue was not detected during assembly.

I received a letter explaining there is a deficiency which can shut down my motor while in use, and to visit a dealer to have it fixed. Spoke with reps by phone and was told it must be done at a dealer - no exceptions. I am medically restricted in my activities, I advised them. No exceptions. Closest dealer to my home (edwards, ms) is in alexandria, louisiana, I'm sorry to say I learned, and I requested they provide a closer repair place, like clinton or vicksburg, ms, but they declined. I asked them how long it would take and they didn't know for sure. Overnight accommodations? at my expense. What if it broke down on the way and I was able to avoid being obliterated?? why, they would dispatch a tow. What about me? I would be on my own to get to the dealer to pick up the car. Maybe your agency has no answer for me, but this seems outrageous treatment of an unsuspecting customer. Why could they not arrange for another auto dealership closer to me to do the work? and I notice there have been 5 recalls on the car. Nobody informed me. Shoddy.

Despite two separate repair attempts on March 9, 2017 and March 15, 2017, younker Mitsubishi was unable to eliminate the p0017 code. 3. From April 18, 2017 to April 27, 2017, a period of nine (9) days, the vehicle was inspected by pierre Mitsubishi in an attempt to eliminate the p0017 code. 4. Both pierre Mitsubishi's service department and Mitsubishi's own tech line recommended warranty repair to correct the problem. 5. On Friday, April 21, 2017, pierre Mitsubishi's service manager dennis paulson promised by telephone that Mitsubishi had agreed to pay for the warranty repair, and accordingly parts were special ordered by the dealer for such repair. 6. Despite the inspection results and oral promises, mr. Paulson indicated on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 that Mitsubishi was no longer willing to cover the warranty repair. 7. Based on Mitsubishi's refusal to perform warranty service, a prima facie case of breach of warranty under the federal magnuson-moss warranty act has been established. 8. Based on Mitsubishi's documented history of covering up serious vehicle safety issues, there is an imminent danger that the vehicle could fail and expose the user to property damage, injury or worse.

My vehicle is still losing power even after the recall problem still exist hesitate when I take off also upon entering the freeway very slow take off and from red lights im afraid of a seroius accident also my gas gauge is not working false readings please please help.

Hear stick pops out of fear with slightest touch while driving. Transmission drops to lower fear while driving. Have to pull over and restart car to get it to work properly. Engine has 15,693 miles, mechanic says a rod is knocking and shouldn't be running the fan to cool as much as it does. All this has multiple occurances. Mitsubishi has had the car twice but found nothing wrong.

Yes I have a 2015 Outlander and I am have two issues with it. Number 1. Have the time the car doesnt want to start. I turn the key and it barely wants to turn over so I turn it off, wait a minute or two then I will try again and then it will start normally. The 2nd issue is the usually when I start the vehicle, I smell gas fumes like crazy. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they told me nothing was wrong. These issues are still not fixed and it is giving me a bad taste in my mouth having to deal with the two dealerships not very professional at all. I have witnesses two both of these issues and they keep telling me nothings wrong with the vehicle.

Driver proceeded to stop the vehicle in traffic and the brakes failed and did not engage. The vehicle did not come to a stop and hit the car in front of it. According to an of-duty police officer directly behind my vehicle, the brake lights were lit up as if the brakes were functioning but no slowing of the vehicle occurred.
