Hesitation when accelerating. Has stalled while driving. Has come to a complete stop when put in reverse.
While driving to work at approximately 6:30 am , as I was signaling to merge onto the on ramp the cars gas pedal stop controlling the speed of my car. I pulled over to the side of the road and my car would not move. I tried to put the heat shifter into park but it was stuck in drive. I had to have the towed to a mechanic which informed me that I needed a new transmission. (3 different independent shops). After being told what it would cost to repair the vehicle the vehicle is still parked in my driveway.
Vehicle changes gears on its own. Vehicle goes in and out of gear on its own when driving. Very unsafe and had to stop using this vehicle so myself or anyone else does not get hurt.
I was driving on the highway on a trip and out of no where my car shuttered and then flashed service transmission soon, I pulled over and my car would no longer drive, reverse or go into neutral. The tow company reset my battery to try to reset my car system. After that my car wouldn’t really go past 60. I followed the tow truck to the nearest town and it stalled again at the light and I could no longer go at all, my car locked up and wouldn’t reset at that point. It’s an $1100 tow back home. The cvt transmission really needs to be rechecked and recalled. I’ve found too many issues and the same complaints but can’t find a recall on it at all.
While driving in the city limits around 35 miles an hour I had to stop abruptly to avoid a collision with a driver who didn’t stop at the intersection. I had to come to a complete stop for this driver. When I took my foot off of the brake and tried to drive on my car would not move. I had to shift gears put it in park and try again. I could hear the engine responding but the car wouldn’t move. When it did start to move forward slowly it was shaking very hard and I was only able to get 10 miles an hour. I had to be towed. And I kept thinking what if I was on the highway that day where the speed limit is 75mph.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact state that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and then stalled. The contact stated that while accelerating, the vehicle lunged forward then inadvertently increased in speed. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that while shifted in reverse(r), the vehicle rolled forward and failed to reverse. The contact stated that the vehicle randomly shuddered. The transmission service required warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that VIN was previously repaired under the NHTSA campaign number: 16v563000 (power train). The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Purchased my used vehicle at my local dealer, in which, they just received into inventory and had not been reconditioned at all ,prepping for resale, but this vehicle was still offered to me in a nonformal fashion; since my low credit, low deposit, and prior repos that it be best if I choose that one. The vehicle has displayed symptoms of shuddering since day one. Test drive was uneventful since we remained low speed. However, immediately and if ever drive 55-75mph there would have shuddering and erratic rpm readings but would settle once slowed and time passed. The dealer was informed the next day of this + of all oil change, car wash, detail, inspection, etc. That were also offered as apart of the deal as well and they only picked up the vehicle once ,second day after financing vehicle, but they only installed a "gps" device within the vehicle and ignored and downplayed all my requests and accounts of the details of the matter entirely. The problem persisted and the dealer personnel gave me the run around and errors electronically that pushed this matter past warranty dateline and they informed me they were not obligated to any action. 2. 5 - 3 years have passed living with these unresolved issues gotten used to it until last month on the freeway the "service transmission" light illuminated it shuddered uncontrollably to a sudden stop where it was very difficult to steer to safe location, but once I stopped the vehicle would always start up but not would it accelerate forward or backwards every time. Sometimes yes ,and some not so much. Had to be towed home and seemed to drive about half of a block distance only as have had been completely cool,as opposed to warm or hot and attempting to move forward. Shows all the symptoms of safety campaign sr-16-006. Local repair shop was uncertain diagnosing ,but tried a complete transmission fluid exchange, which was a fail. As far as recalls dealership, too costly at the moment for tow to/from+inspection,since the recall shows error.
My car has a major problem with acceleration hesitation in transmisson that has almost caused several accidents. Also whenever I ride down the road and hit the minute bump my steering jerk really bad and it happens on both sides causing me to jerk steering wheel almost run off the road several times.
The car when speeding it always like crashes since new . When you accelerate it doesn't go right away . Also the brakes get rusted right away so it makes sound. Also the air heater or ac are always working even when its off.
When driving the Mitsubishi it accelerates on it's own an jerks then slows down vehicle hesitates to accelerate pass 20 miles per hour at first then it speeds revving up I don't want to get hit from behind an I don't want to rear end anyone vice versa. The steering wheel feels loose an light weight. I have enclosed a youtube video that explains what the vehicle is doing note that is not me speaking in the youtube video but those are the exact issues that the guy in the video posted.
I bought my vehicle towards the end of October with less than 40000 miles and I keep encountering an acceleration issue and high engine rpm, the issues periodically 'resolve' them self only to come back a little further down the road, the issues I encounter aren't exactly the same but I think they are very closely related/connected to each other; accelerating from low speed (0-30): I tend to notice an acceleration problem around 0-30 mph where I have my foot on the gas pedal and the vehicle is moving and is accelerating, acceleration is very, very slow and it feels as though something in/on my vehicle is giving what I can only describe as 'resistance' to accelerate, the feeling is very weird and I have never felt anything quite like it and I lack the vocabulary to truly explain what the issue feels like but I do know for certain that something is wrong. High engine speeds during 0-~60 mph acceleration: when I need to accelerate to merge into traffic going 45-65 mph (accelerating from 0-30 mph range) my engine speed approaches 6000 rpm but never enters the red area behind the gauge, I often need to accelerate from the 0-30 mph range to 45-65 mph range to jump onto a highway or freeway and my engine speeds get much higher than anything I have ever experienced before. I suspect the automatic shifting mechanism is broken or is made poorly. I have brought my vehicle into a genuine Mitsubishi dealership and had them run a complete diagnostic, even a diagnostic on my transmission with everything coming back fine. I honestly don't even know what the issue is but I have documents verifying that nothing is wrong with my vehicle but no diagnosis, however I was told that my fluid was good for another year, the transmission might still be "learning' my driving style, and my vehicle has a brake 'priming' system that helps stop your vehicle in heavy traffic.
This happens almost all the time - when driving at city street speed of 25 mph and under my car shakes so much and does not accelerate and feels like it is going to shut down. On 3 occasions I was rear ended because of this and one time was with a huge sanitation truck with my children inside the car. I have taken this car to the dealer and the Mitsubishi dealer to be looked at and help to no avail it still does it. I have reported this to Mitsubishi motors and was given a case number but to date no one has contacted me nor helped me. I am scared for the safety of my family and myself - it is a very scary situation and I just bought this car about a year ago. Help me because no one else does.
I was told my entire transmission was under recall but mittsubishi of orange park in jacksonville florida and that it needed to be replaced. I am now being told that they will not fix because I am 2nd owner and because of milage. I have put about 80000 miles on k. Original owner put 43000 miles on car. I was unaware that there were any recalls on vehicle when I purchased it and would not have if had known. As well as that I received no notification from mittsubishi in my 3 years of owning vehicle to bring vehicle to repair recalls . Vehicle will suddunley stop in traffic will not accelarate or just turns off in the middle of turning .
I was driving on a highway when the transmission started feeling like it was slipping. I pulled over checked all the fluids and everything was fine. I was miles from the nearest town. So I started driving again and 2 miles down the road the transmission light came on. When this happened the car stopped accelerating and started revving up. I turned the hazard on and pulled off onto the side of a busy highway. I tried to accelerate again and the engine reved again. I turned the car off and started it again the transmission light went off. I put the car in reverse and was able to back up to get further over off the road. I tried to put it in drive and the car wouldn't move but the light remained off. I called a tow truck and had to have it towed to a safe location. I took it to a dealer ship and they claimed it was the cvt and it was internal. I would have to have to whole unit replaced. They quoted me around 7,000. My brother-in-law called to get more info and they quoted him around 4,000. There are 108,000 miles on my 2015. So it's over warranty and I felt like they were trying to rip me off. I have seen similar recalls for this type of thing happening. I am concerned for the safety of myself and others with this happening out of nowhere.
Intermittent rough idle and fluctuating rpm. . Afraid vehicle will accelerate by its self may cause accident waiting at a stop sign or red light.
Takata recall I bought this vehicle in houston texas and had it "shipped" to kamuela hawaii. The big island does not have a mitshibishi dealer. This information was not disclosed to me. I am unable to take this item in for recall remedy. I feel the dealer was aware there was no mitshibishi dealer here and this recall is an issue and now I have a defect vehicle in a place in which I cannot rememdy. I am unable to ship this vehicle anywhere to get this recall fixed. I am highly upset and need help! I just got the recall in the mail dated August. . . It costs over 1000 to have this vehicle shipped anywhere for dealer repair. They need to replace my funds and take this vehicle back!.
Took my vehicle in on a recall it was hesitating when you entered the freeway or even taking off from red light the problem still exist this issue need to fixed it is a safety concern for myself also others on the road also my car give off false fuel readings brakes are horrible please someone help. . .
New vehicle purchased Nov 16 2015. Two weeks after bought, vehicle began to slow down, then hesitate, stall out. The vehicle was put into shop due to a computer chip issue that occurred on 'the line. ' got vehicle back and same problem. Mitsubishi put back in shop and replaced the transmission in Dec 2015. Now same issue, stalling in lighted intersections, at stop signs, won't speed up, decelerates. Mitsubishi's answer? put back in shop and going back in today, Jan 12, 2016. Three times in less than three months I have had vehicle. I am afraid for my family member's safety while in the vehicle and my daughter in law who dries and rides in the vehicle is seven months pregnant. Please help us!! do not want anyone using these vehicles to get injured as Mitsubishi is aware of line problem and repairing many of these 2015's with same issue with no recall and will not replace the vehicle. Thank you.
During acceleration, I'm experiencing hesitation my vehicle jerk or slow to take off this is a great concern. . This could cause a accident upon taking off please help us is see I'm not the only one having this problem.
Vehicle will not accelerate although stepping on gas pedal. Vehicle shudders and seems to want to turn off. Once the vehicles gets to about 25 mph, it accelerates with no problem. I have been dealing with this problem since vehicle was purchased. I have made several complaints to the manufacturer but nothing seems to get resolved. Vehicle was also taken in for a recall regarding this matter but that did not resolve the problem.
