1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The cvt transmission went out at 115k and has to be replaced and can not be repaired.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2025

My vehicle kept going into "limp mode" so I took it to the shop and they basically said $9,000 to replace. It's a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander sport which I purchased from carvana just over a year ago. After reading up on my vehicle, I found there were recalls on the cvt transmission the previous years because of the same exact issues. It's very unsafe because on more than one occasion, I pulled out of a parking lot and, drove for about a half a mile and then suddenly, my car loses power and starts to slow down in traffic. Now the expense to replace is just about what I owe on the vehicle. When I look online, there's many customers who have gone though the same thing. Now I have a car payment for the next 4 years on a car that I cannot safely drive. The issues from the previous years have not been resolved with the 2017 model year. I will continue to pay on it and leave it parked until there's a recall.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2023

Failure of driver side exterior mirror. 3 years after purchase of vehicle the mirror would no longer move in and out. Dealer replaced with oem quality mirror July 2021. 2 years later (August 2023)mirror now has the exact same malfunction/defect. Mitsubishi is unable to tell me why the failure happened in the first place or why it has again happened. Mitsubishi refuses to take any action to fully rectify this issue. They only suggest again replacing the mirror. As the mirror is part of a side vehicle warning system the malfunction creates the possibility of a side collision with another vehicle. Thank you , allen eckstein.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2022

Trunk strut exploded while closing the trunk, rod went through the right tail light.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2019

Every two or 3 weeks I have to jump the truck to get it started even put a new battery in it. . . . I have brought it to the mechanic and brought it to the Mitsubishi car dealer to diagnose the problem and couldnt find any. . It gets very annoying to see if the truck is going to start or I could be stranded somewhere . . I bought the truck in July and it has installed a new battery and the dealer cannot diagnose the problem. . . . . The truck has only 37,000 miles.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2019

I have had this issue since June 2019. The car was taken to be serviced 4 times for a major leak with a crazy rattle noise on the passenger side when you drive the car with the ac on. Eventually they replaced the ac assembly. However, it still makes the rattling noise from the area the leak was coming from. I purchased the vehicle brand new in 2017. Total disappointment.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2019

We hear whistle sound in car when we accelerate above 20 miles speed.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2019

Has been happening for a few days now I try to start the car and it seems as it will fail me soon. I went to a mechanic and they told me it's a problem with the ignition or starter. It's a new car bought it brand new in 2017. I believe they should also recall the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. Also seat belts don't lock .
