Electronic Stability Control problem #1

I purchase my 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander in December of 2016. I had my vehicle come to a complete while accelerating and in motion. This could of killed me and my family. My vehicle has had consistent acceleration and hesitating issues while accelerating and in motion. Something is wrong with the transmission or engine. There's a major problem with my vehicle not being able to accelerate normally and safely. My air bag light on my vehicle has not come on for over years. I am very concern that my airbag is defective and won't work if I get into a vehicle accident. I have took my vehicle to 2 different Mitsubishi auto dealerships to have the problem looked at and diagnosed, but Mitsubishi can't diagnose or determine what's causing the problem. There's a problem with my transmission and engine.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

My greatest concern is the engine stalling while driving, new battery draining so quickly , the vehicle shaking while idle then shuts off. I cannot understand how my vehicle was not added to the engine stall recall even with these problems replicating what Mitsubishi identifies in there past recalls. This is very dangerous because macanics or diagnostic computers cannot identify problems with the car but after driving it for a good while or maybe a few hours the car could just shut off in the middle of no where in a highway which has already happened to me endangering me and my family. I write to NHTSA today so that my vehicle as urgently as possible can be included in a investigation for this vehicle to be included in Mitsubishi's recall.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

On may 1, 2020 I drove about 15 miles from my home to medford, oregon. I made one stop and upon getting back into the vehicle, I could not start or turn off the electrical component of the vehicle. The mainframe kept showing "electrical system service required" I could not lock the vehicle for safety. I could not drive the vehicle as it is its main purpose. I could not turn off the unit which most likely ran the battery down and is most likely dead. It had to be towed to the nearest dealership which cannot access recall information. They want to charge me $150 to diagnose, and cannot perform any recall work. I purchased this car to avoid getting fired from a job that I had to travel an hour each way. Three months later they laid me off. Now the car I purchased is not working. I had contacted the place I bought the car from after I purchased before this happened to get help with the recall which they assured me there was a place locally. Which there is not. The closest place is California or portland. Now that the car is not driveable, I cannot get it to the right dealership to be fixed under warranty. I don't have extra finances to manage this. I am a single parent on unemployment and I need a vehicle to be able to work. This situation is critical and I am very upset and disappointed in the lack of help and support I have received to have a working safe reliable vehicle. Situation: I drove to town. Parked in a parking lot. When I returned to the vehicle. It would not start. Brakes are locked. Stearing wheel locked. Shifter locked. Radio on. Electrical components would not shut off draining the battery. Windows can roll down, but cannot use power locks to lock the vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

When driving and coming to a stop the vehicle jerked and I pressed on the brakes vehicle rear ended vehicle infront of me. Sensor did not go off and vehicle was at fault.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

The vehicle sounds really loud when it runs. When I press the accelerator it sounds like it is in 4wd. It is not getting enough force.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

There is some problem with brake. The abs and asr lights are on. So I decided to go to the mechanic. The mechanic checked the car and he told me abs pump is broken. Started when I was driving.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

My 2015 Outlander was just inspected a week prior to this happening. My wife was driving the car on the highway and the vehicle would not exceed 50 mph. The gas light was blinking on the dash but was full . While she's on the highway off ramp the car shuts down. She restarts it but it won't go into gear. Stuck in the park position. Now the car is in the shop and they say it's computer failure . @60,000 miles? I just find it funny that's how long of a warranty they give to you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

8 recalls on brakes. Electrical. Wheels. Collision. Stability. Emergency braking. Antilock brakes. Hydraulics.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

I noticed just recently when I was on a long distance road trip that my transmission overheating light was coming on? I had to pull over a couple times and let it cool down before I could continue. . . It is very dangerous and no one at Mitsubishi or other shops knows whats wrong? please help.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

Tl the contact owned a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure as listed in NHTSA campaign number: 18v621000 (forward collision avoidance, electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system). While driving 28 mph, the vehicle crashed into a tree. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries, but did not receive medical attention. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

On March 11 th, my Outlander was unable to stop and had minimal traction in about a quarter of an inch of snow causing my vehicle to hit a tree head on. I was driving under 30 miles an hour when the accident occurred. After hitting the tree, the steering wheel began to smoke. I was able to exit the vehicle and turned around to see the airbag only partially deployed. From there, my vehicle was declared a total loss. Now, after requesting my insurance company to demand a safety inspection from the Mitsubishi dealership to no avail, I've contacted Mitsubishi corporate and gave them my accident report with high concern in regards to the recall #18v621. I have offered to tow my Outlander to the dealership and they have responded to my concern by refusing to evaluate and inspect this vehicle. When I last spoke to my case manager at Mitsubishi corporate, she let me know there is nothing they will do. I have called the nashua nh dealership to make an appointment for safety inspection of this recall and they have refused to have the service department investigate. Today, I have been told upon towing my vehicle there that they refused delivery of the Outlander. I have not agreed to the settlement offered by my insurance and continue to seek means of having this vehicle inspected for the recall which I'm certain caused my accident. Corporate did state that if I subrogate than they may be able to diagnose my defective vehicle. As of today, I'm in the process of gathering documents.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

After my abs, tcs, and check engine lights came on, I started to research what my problem was. Come to find out the abs pump motor is getting low voltage resulting in poor braking and overall driveability in any weather. In my research I found that this is a very common problem with many Mitsubishi's around this year. I was completely fine with replacing the parts because the car isn't safe for my children, but when looking into the cost of replacement of such a small part, I (along with many other people) can not afford to spend ~$2000 to make our cars safe. If this has truly been a problem for so long why hasn't Mitsubishi handled it yet. Until I can find a cheap replacement or if Mitsubishi cares about their customers safety, I will be driving my 2010 Outlander with no abs or traction control. Which is very unsafe.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

Hesitations during acceleration, engine stalls, electrical doesnt work proberly like usb.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

Immobizer system I had been out over two hrs in my car came home for min turned care off it dinged saying immobizer system needs service and car would not start back even this morning.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

I was driving my car on the highway and shut off and I take to the dealer for three days but they never found any issues them happen again so may wife almost have a car accident and the west gate Mitsubishi of raleig towing my car and they told me that my car computer need to be replaced it and I'm still waiting for car get fixed my car in on the dealer for a week and nothing gets fix. This is a real serious the car shutoff during driving I'm really des appointed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

Ongoing problems with this vehicle. Bought new 9/2015. Treated appallingly at pos. Unreliable instrument panel kept showing a p0017 code at 15k, would not clear. Took to dealer for $450 29k service, check engine light stayed on after this for long period of time then off. Car "passed" all checks at different dealer but they said "timing chain" looked loose in 4/2017 they said we could replace the chain, cam and crank shaft and sensors at our expense for 4k on a new car. They blamed us for "improper maintenance" due to dirty oil. They cancelled warranty on entire vehicle. Cose would go off, then on periodically, 0017 again. Car drove fine until recently, car then stalled while in motion through intersection in rush hour, seized up 42k miles. Dealer refused tow as dealership more than 21 miles dishonored roadside service. Our aaa took to mechanic near home who does japanese cars, timing chain broke dx $150. Dealer refused to honor warranty. Charged to rediagnose, had to tow back to dealer $150 diagnosis again, timing chain broke, entire engine needs replacing. Car died in intersection, was almost killed. Denied warranty coverage. 7 recalls on this vehicle so far, one is stalling like we said!!!! dangerous car, do not buy! please recall engine is bad, dealer asking 10k to replace! seattle Mitsubishi pierre. Car burned oil quick it seems, even synthetic. This is a pattern, must recall entire engine on these vehicles, people will die.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

The etacs control has caused my tail lights and tag lights to not work. This is an extreme amount of money to fix. I see there was a recall on the etacs for vehicles made in 2010 and I believe my car should be in this recall but nothing has come up according to the VIN. I cannot get my car inspected and registered due to this etacs failure.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

Car would randomly shudder and rpms fluctuate while idling. Then would just die when attempting to go from idle. Eventually asc service required warning came on with service engine light. Transmission tunnler was replaced. Car ran fine for a few weeks and problem has started again. Pulling into gas station, car started to shudder. Rpms fluctuated and asc service required came on again.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

I bought my wife a new 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander sport ES for our anniversary on 1/24/2017. The doesn't even have 5k mls on it. Recently on 9/5/17 the car started to act weird. From a stop to go the car would not drive normal. It has a slow get up to catch speed. It drives like 10mph for a wile and then sometimes goes back to normal. She has to turn the ignition from on to off so the car kind of goes back to driving normally again.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

I've checked everything that I could and my car still shakes a lot when I'm driving and when I am stopped it shakes even more. Every time I press on the gas it jumps up and it kind of feels like it slides. I took it for a free inspection and they said everything was ok but something is not right I can feel it when I drive.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

Received airbag warnings was advised if I wrecked with warning on airbags maynot deploy had to replace passanger seat the car fell to read the key a lot of the time even when its in the slot this has been ongoing sincei got the car with 400 miles dealer says they cant get it to duplicate the error so I do not know also the steering and control is terrible it sound like it always needs an oilchange makes a ticking noise seat sticks from time to time also it dent and scratch to easily the tires and brakes feel terrible at 24000 miles I have had to have the cd player replace.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

I'm backing up on a reverse mode and a slightly elevated RV parking to get some heavy items next to my drive way, I slowly moving and try to aligned it to the pavement I notice the backup camera didn't work and press my feet to the break then after I release it accelerate past backward hitting the wooden fench and zero ground the 6 foot shed, causing the back body part of the car wreck and I end up on a 3 bricks high planter. I have some history in the past that the following day that I got the car from the dealer I returned it to them because I heared a popping sound on the engine part when I stop the engine, they said its just normal but with all the cars that I had I never experience this so unusual and the static on the car seat everytime I come out of the car I even transfer the static feel when somebody touch me I and after a week they put leather seat it is still the same what I did I put a rug on my seat that lessen the static. Everytime I bring the car on all the complaints they just ignore it and telling me its just normal and because I never bought any brand new car except Mitsubishi since 1997 so my trust is still there until this crash happend to me and first time in my entire life its good thing it happens with in my property what if this malfunction happens outside and I hurt somebody that accident was traumatic to me I don't want to drive that car anymore I don't know what will happen next. I file complain with them, then after 3 weeks they don't want to take responsibility and advise me to just claim accident on my insurance. I ask the service manager to please email me a copy of their investigation and a written report on their advise on me. Michael of Mitsubishi anaheim is hesitant to give me any written report on the test they've done and advice they want me to do.
