I have had multiple issues with this SUV. The main issue I am writing this for is because the car was hit stopped at a red light by another car going over 40 mph. The car rolled back then slammed into my car again going just as fast. The airbags did not deploy and the seatbelts did not lock. The impact actually broke the seats the passenger and I were sitting in. There were extensive injuries that happened because of this. The SUV was deemed a total loss because of the extensive damage done to the car. There were no warning messages, no recalls, etc. The SUV was inspected by a mechanic and insurance company and both said that the airbags should have gone off and the seatbelts should have locked based on the amount of damage to the SUV. I also took this SUV into the Mitsubishi dealership for all services/maintenance and nothing ever came up about any issues.

The seat belt has started to fail. It sounds like it clicks in and the warning light turns off. Once I start to drive the seat belt will come off. This has happened approximately 5 times in the last month.

I rear-ended a car after they came to a complete stop at a green light on a road with a 50mph speed limit. I attempted to stop but in the rain my car hydroplaned, and I hit them. Upon impact my seatbelt did not lock up and my airbags didn't deploy despite the fact that I was going at least 20mph. I ended up hitting the steering wheel pretty hard and still have pain, spasms, and soreness.

The buckles for the side seats in the rear are so short they're almost hidden inside the seat making it difficult for anyone who is not child sized to find and/or buckle. I do ride share and this is an issue for 90% of my rides.

The seat belts some times it doesnt work property and also this car doesnt brake automatic if is a closer object near me in the front and in the back dosent stop adbrupt if is something in the bag additional if im over my lane not always said that im wrong so im been see alot problems and also the back seats are not safety the kids can not put their feets im not happy with this problems and it have a lot and I bought brand new but still giving problems im really not happy this car soesnt have enought space.

The contact owns a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side seat belt was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the front passenger’s seat belt pretensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Since I bought my car in 2021 the air bag system sensor goes off as well as the seatbelt light even if my seatbelt is on.

The rear passenger seat belt is way down in the seat and I have tried everything to get it to pull out more. I don't know what it could be, but it's almost as if the seat belt buckle is too short.

I am a rideshare driver. On Friday, April 23, 2021 passengers began to complain that the right-side seat belt (on the 2nd row of seats) would not fasten. After arranging for people to move around to the other side (left-hand seat) for a while, I finally quit driving to deal with the issue myself. After numerous attempts to repair the buckle, I gave up and started calling around for the part--but could not find it. Finally I noticed a recall notice online for this exact same issue in 2014-2019 Mitsubishi Outlanders. On Monday (April 26) I called scott elder Mitsubishi in cedar park, texas to schedule the recall repair, but was told that my VIN number is not covered under the recall. They also did not have the part and could not obtain one for at least a week. I then called the manufacturer directly to learn why my vehicle is not covered for the recall even though it is a 2019 and has the exact same problem as described in the recall notice. They could not give me a satisfactory answer, nor any alternative recourse to resolve my issue. As stated above, I am a rideshare driver. I cannot do my job with an unusable seat belt. Switching passengers to the other seat won't always work because I often pick up 3 or more passengers. Each day I am without the use of the vehicle for work is costing me $250-$300 per day (not counting bonuses).

Harpswell auto illegally sold me a vehicle with 5 safely recalls on the vehicle before I bought the vehicle. Safety recall codes are c1611z, c1614z, c1801r, c1806z, c2003r. I bought the vehicle 4/25/2020 and 2 recalls were due in 2016 and 3 were due in 2019. Where these are very big safety recalls I think harpswell auto needs to have their license revoke for service and inspection stickers because my vehicle should never have passed inspection with the crossmember recall completely rotted out.

The contact had the vehicle repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 20v403000 (seat belts) at auto stop Mitsubishi (pr-2, aguadilla pueblo, aguadilla 00603, puerto rico). Upon picking up the vehicle, the contact stated that the seat belt cover was fractured. The contact informed the dealer of her concern regarding the seat belt and was informed that the replacement part to repair the seat belt would be ordered. The contact stated after 4 months, the seat belt was still not repaired. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to auto stop Mitsubishi (pr-2, aguadilla pueblo, aguadilla 00603, puerto rico) where it was diagnosed with the seat belt cover needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v741000 (parking brake) and 20v403000 (seat belts) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The seat belt on the back passage seat doesn't come out. It like that buckle is too short, which make it hard to buckle up.

I have a safety recall on my vehicle. Mitsubishi says I will have to dry from oklahoma to arkansas because they no longer have places in oklahoma that will fix a recall. But there are many dealerships that are selling Mitsubishis. Those dealerships also tell me I would have to take it to arkansas. This is a huge problem, I bought this car brand new and unable to get recalls fixed on it unless I drive to another state. This is awful. I’m a nurse and work a lot I don’t have time to dry to arkansas and have my car worked on. Not only that time, gas and mileage. That’s not fair at all to me. They should have to have a center of some sort in oklahoma to fix these recalls if they are going to be selling new Mitsubishis here in oklahoma.

On 12/13/2019 my daughter had a accident in 2019 mishibishi Outlander she hit fence fence post electricity box and 2 signs doing damage all around the vehicle her seat belt nore my newphews seat belt locked up and she hit her head on the steering wheel the passenger in the vehicles seat beat locked up the back seat belt didnt lock up I have alot of pictures but will only allow me to upload one.

Rear passenger seat belt and rear middle seatbelt were damaged by the seat being folded forward, rear middle belt is completely cut in half and rear passenger side belt is partially cut.

The service airbag soon light is on. When taken to a mechanic it doesn't show anything in the computer. The middle row middle and right side seatbelts are different sizes and passengers get stuck if they put the latch in the wrong one. Running board clips passenger side keep breaking.

Front passenger side seat belt cannot be retracted. Under 60k miles. Vehicle handled with great care throughout.

Report receipt date: Nov 21, 2014 NHTSA campaign number: 14v744000 Mitsubishi refuses to pay for the repair of the passenger seatbelt which has become loose and does not latch anymore. They are saying this recall does not affect my VIN #. My car is also a 2014, I think you need to revise your recall to include my VIN # and all others that were produced the same day, as the same thing is happening to mine and avoid loss of life and the liabilities that can come from that.

The second row middle seat belt has a problem. It always seizes once the middle passenger fastens it and then starts being more tighter on the passenger, thus pressing on the chest causing high level of discomfort.

Seat belt comes unbuckled at random times while driving the vehicle. It has happened at least a dozen times.

Driver side seat belt retractor fails to lock. Per Mitsubishi service department, seat belt assembly does not have an unlimited warranty. Seat belts should not fail. As a major safety equipment in a vehicle, seat belts should have a lifetime warranty.

The contact owns a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated that the seat belts on the rear seats failed to latch for passengers who weighed over 125 pounds. The vehicle was taken to wantagh Mitsubishi (3460 sunrise hwy, wantagh, NY 11793, 516-785-4300) where the technician stated that there was no recall. The technician recommended seat belt extensions at a cost to the contact. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was 1,100.

Engine light came on steady with the engine bucking, surging, losing r. P. M. 's while driving and stalling after coming to a full stop. (2) O2 sensors were replaced, computer re-programed, one (1) of the two (2) sensors replaced again, with a final repair to a suspected air leak which finally,after 3-4 weeks, cleared the light from coming back on. Now, one month later the bucking and surging is becoming more and more frequent. I'm $1,000. 00 into this problem and it still isn't resolved!! complaint #2: the right rear seat belt does not lock and pulls back out when connected, combined with the fact that the front belts are not long enough for even the slightest of larger persons.

The manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy two safety recalls for my vehicle in a timely manner. I contact them twice, and no one give me any feedback.

I own a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The driver seat belt clicks as if it is fastened correctly then moments later it will pop out as if it were never attached. This is a huge safety risk for anyone who is driving the vehicle.

I was recently in a wreck and my cars air bags did not deploy and my seat belts did not lock in. I was sitting stationary as the traffic in front of me had stopped to allow someone to turn. All of a sudden a car smashed into my rear end. All passengers in the car and myself were thrown forward. The seat belts did not lock us in safely. I hit my steering wheel and left panel near windshield. The passenger hit the sun visor above his head. The back driver passenger was jolted upward hitting the ceiling and drivers seat. The back passenger on the other side was jolted up hitting the ceiling and passenger seat. The impact was hard enough to move my car 33 feet forward and into another car. On impact my air bags did not deploy which caused us to all go airborne in the car hitting ceiling, seats, and equipment. The rear passenger eyeglasses landed in the 3rd row seating so the impact was hard enough that some safety devices should have worked properly and sufficiently.

Tl - the contact owns 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving the driver side seat belt unhooked while the contact was driving at 50 mph . The contact did not notify the manufacturer. The failure mileage is 106,000. Dg.

The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that the rear center seat belt jammed and got stuck in the buckle. The seat belt had to be cut to remove the passenger. The dealer stated that the contact was the reason for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,500.

I had a accident with my 3 children in the car with me. I was driving on a 6 lane highway & hit a car that was in the middle lane as it came to a complete stop for no apparent reason other than reaching for something in the floorboard. The damage was to the front end of my Outlander, needing to replace the bumper, hood, lights, a/c condenser & more. None of the 7 airbags in my car were deployed & none of the seatbelts locked. I was told from a local Mitsubishi dealer that if there was an issue, there would be a code in the computer, so therefore they say there is nothing wrong with my Outlander or the safety restraint system.
