Seats Problems of Mitsubishi Outlander

On January 12 at 9:54am I was driving less than a 1/4 of a mile. I stopped at a stop sign and my cabin was filled with smoke. I thought it was coming from the engine so I turned the heat off for the car. I proceeded to the next stop sign and I then realized that my driver side seat was on fire and the smoke was coming out from between my legs for the seat was burning from the inside. I have taken the car to the dealership and it is reported that there is a faulty heating element in the seat. The car can not be started for each time the car is started the fire reignites. Due to the air bags being attached to this same control panel I can not drive the car off the lot. This car is a huge safety issue.

The driver seatbelt come unattached while driving. The car looses electric system while driving.

The driver's seat goes forward but doesn't life up. It is stuck in a reclined position. The motor doesn't work to lift the sit up but does for the forward movement,. When you revlind seat it does not incline. Chair motor is not sold separately but was told the whole drivers seat have to be replaced.

The car's airbag system service required came on without any incidents to the car. It used to be on and off but now, it is consistently on. The seat detect very lightweight things like a book or a bag and gives the warning of seatbelt not on. The airbag system and the pressure sensor of the passenger seat is faulty. With this warning, airbags will not deploy. I saw multiple incidents with other Mitsubishi Outlander owners who have the same issue.

Air bag light comes on when drivers seat put back. When seat moved forward air bag light goes off. When air bag light is on system will not work, not safe to drive. Dealership on first repair did wire repair. They claimed when seat was put back it stretched harness turning on air bag light. Did repair under warranty. Second time they replaced harness due to same problem per service advisor. Second repair was not warranty due to being over on mileage. Vehicle is a 2018 with 31754 miles.

On two instances,the plug under the driver seat controlling the seat functions became detached. On both occasions the seat pushed forward pushing the driver into the steering wheel making it nearly impossible to steer. Fortunately, I was stopped both times. This could have been catastrophic had I been going down the road. The dealer has temporarily wire tied the plug so it will not happen again and the have ordered a new wiring harness, which is on back order.

The power electric drive seat becomes loose with time. Very dangerous while braking cause the drive seat moves forward fast, driver feels disoriented to extent feeling unstable and could lead to not appropriately having control over vehicle during brake events. This could lead to hitting front vehicle.

The left back seat on the 2nd row rocks. I’m expecting twins and it’s not safe for the babies.

When accelerating or braking on any roads or conditions the driver seat will rock back and forth. This has been happening since I purchased the vehicle 5/22/2020.

When driving the doors don't lock automatically, I had someone(strange r) walk up to my car and open the door while at stop light. I just knew the doors lock automatically as my past Saturn, chevy, Ford car purchases. I ask Mitsubishi dealership and they specified that my year model wasn't built with auto locks. Also, the door panels doolight up at night when driving, maybe it's an electric matter too.

The drivers seat is loose and wobbles. The seat is loose and wobbles both when the vehicle is in motion and when the vehicle is stationary. I took the brand new vehicle to the dealership and they said that they were told by Mitsubishi not to fix at this time. They are aware of this and are looking for a way to fix it.

My seat hinges that adhere to the floor have rusted on the driver seat.

The seat heating burned the seat( driver seat) reaching burning me on my upper leg.

Driver seat rocks back and forth (braking and accelarating) I'm afraid seat may become so lose that it can break back causing a safety issue. Dealership said Mitsubishi is aware but they have not done anything to fix the issue. I am 2000 miles away from my bumper to bumper warranty to expire. I feel I was just brushed away.

The driver's side seat rocks back and forth when I accelerate and brake. This became evident days after I purchased the vehicle. The dealer tried to fix the issue but they damaged the vehicle even more.

Driver seat move to much complete bring car back to dealer say nothing can't do for me this happens from the day I by the car . I need help whit this problem & I call Mitsubishi of north America toll me seat is no part of safety in the car.

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while sitting on the front passenger's seat in car, the entire seat belt anchor broke and detached from the seat, without any warning indicator. The contact notified a local dealer about the failure but was told that there was no recall. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 120,000. Fe.

While parked and turned off(for 15 minutes), the passenger side seat(heated seat) caught fire. The fire was discovered quickly and extinguished before significant damage took place. I filed a complaint with Mitsubishi who directed me to the local Mitsubishi dealer for a diagnostic. The Mitsubishi(kerry Mitsubishi) dealer would not share the results with me but contacted Mitsubishi. The "management team" at Mitsubishi rejected any responsibility saying that the fire came from an external source. I had only requested that they replace the faulty equipment in spite of the fact that this situation could have been much, much worse.

Every time while existing the car, getting too much static. It doesn't matter with weather condition. If it is a small drive or long drive, static building up with seats fabric and gives the static electricity when you touch the door or any part of the vehicle.
