Vehicle was involved in an serious offset head on crash with a full size Chevrolet silverado. The side apron air bag failed to deploy on both sides. Both vehicles were traveling straight on a two lane rural road with a speed limit of 45mph. Don't know actual vehicle speeds. Chevrolet veered into the opposite lane and struck the Mitsubishi Raider xls traveling in the opposite direction. I believe the failure of the driver side curtain airbag contributed to the seriousness of the Mitsubishi drivers injuries.
The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. While driving 40 mph on dry pavement, the brakes failed and the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained minor upper back injuries. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 06v038000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock:control unit/module). The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 53,400.
