Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 2004 Nissan 350Z

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan 350z. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer reset the air bag sensor, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was brought back to the dealer who stated that both the driver and passenger side air bag modules needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 111,000. Jcc.

Air bag fault light for passenger seat stayed on. Investigation by Nissan determined it to be a faulty sensor. Another incident occurred on 3/05/14, with same problem. Appears to be the same problem as recall of 2013-2014 Nissans. I think recall should be extended to include my 2004 z350.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 68,500 and the current mileage was 71,755.

Airbag deployment warning light consistently comes on. Airbag may deploy at anytime. Dealer (baron Nissan, greenvale, NY) has attempted 3 repairs, with no success. Nissan north America will not remedy under warranty.
