Brembo aluminum calipers were used with steel bolts causing the breaks to get himot & seize the steel bolt in the calipers. 1 out of 2 brake jobs end up costing thousands & hours of work to get the seized bolts out, I have had a caliper fall off going 65 & got caught in between my tire & rear wheel arc.

My 24 year old daughter had just came off the on ramp and began merging onto highway 99 northbound when she heard a loud bang and felt her car drop as if she had a flat tire, as she began pulling off the freeway making her way to the shoulder she saw her tire pass her up and continue down the freeway where it continued alone for about 100 yards and by sheer luck ended up along the guard railing and did not cause any accidents or injuries as many have reported happened to them. Her passenger side rear wheel broke off leaving the center of the wheel and 5 lug nuts remaining, the entire center of the wheel remained on the car, all 5 wheel spokes were broken off due to cracking, I inspected her remaining wheels and found them all ready to fail evidencing cracks on most wheel spokes.

Hello, I was leaving a stop sign barely moving and all of a sudden it sounded like a gun going off in my car. Before I could grasp my next thought my car flipped completely over on its side no tires touching the ground! I had to crawl out passenger window . Upon inspection of vehicle this is what was found.

Takata recall I am highly concerned about Nissan 350z wheel models. While driving my vehicle collapsed due to the fact the rim broke off. Wheels are Nissan stock. No aftermarket! no injuries were present. This is a safety issue, my life and possibly the life of others couldve been taken from this matter. So far Nissan refuses to be at fault. Vehicle was in motion when incident took place. Heard grinding at 55mph and vehicle collapsed at 10mph.

I recently bought a used vehicle at norfolk mortorsports in norfolk va. They had bought the vehicle thru inspection and it did not pass it, according to the manager, it was missing the air bag on the passenger and they was going to buy the whole component for it instead. I had a meeting with the owner of the company along with the manager, salesperson; the owner had stated to me and my fiancã© at the time that he could have easily clipped the wire to the seat and it would pass inspection. About two weeks later I finally received the vehicle and now the passenger air bag light is showing that its on "off", to me, this indicates that they tripped the wire to let it pass inspection. I also believe that they tripped the wires for the tires lights on it. I had asked for money back but would not give it to me since it is considered a "lemon". They are only willing to give me a trade-in instead. Till this day I still have not received the title because at the time of sale they told me I had to call the day before and their administrative personnel would give it to me. They have been giving the run-around on this vehicle that I have paid in cash for. They now want to me to purchase another vehicle that is the" engine service light", along with another light about the tires. I am afraid they will also trip the wires on that vehicle so it will pass inspection. They trying to force my hand into something that I do not want instead of giving my cash back that I gave to them from the bank.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan 350z roadster. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitor warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who performed a diagnostic and determined that the driver's side rear tire pressure monitor sensor had failed. The dealer reset the sensor but the failure recurred twice. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 41,324.
On Friday July 5th 2013 just after getting off the expressway I heard a noise coming from the front of the car. Just as I pulled into the driveway my wheel (rim) broke off. Wow, thank the good lord I was'nt on the freeway. The wheel hub was still attached to the bolts, and the rim broke, upon further inspection the other front wheel has cracks on all five spokes. The vehicle is unsafe to drive, had it towed to the local Nissan dealership in oceanside, California. Why has there been no recalls. It seems there are numerous reports of the same problem. Still awaiting a response from mossy Nissan in oceanside, CA.
While driving to visit my grandsons on christmas eve, the rear drive wheel broke. The wheel broke from the car and travel down the highway at a high rate of speed. Luckily I was able to slow the car down and get it to the side of the road. I could only sit helpless as I watch the broken wheel bounce down the highway. The wheel came to a stop more than 400 yards. A quote from the chp officer, "it never happens this way. Usually the wheel lands on someone else's car causing a accident. " this is the second wheel that has broke on my car. Summer 2011 I had to replace a cracked wheel when getting new tires. The remaining two wheels on the car have been looked at and cracks have been found. Since my insurance will not cover the cost of new wheels, I'm forced to replace them myself. While doing some investigative work, I have found more than a dozen cases just like mine. The tire shop I visited today said they have had 3 other Nissan 350z - 2006 with the same problem. How many cases have not been reported? Nissan will not take responsibility and recall their bad batch of wheels from 2006. What does it take to make Nissan responsible and recall these wheels?.
My wife has taken her 350z into the dealership multiple times for a low tire pressure indicator light. Everytime, they have been unable to determine the cause. This most recent time, however, she took the car in on 3/16/2012. While she waited, the mechanic and service tech inspected the vehicle. Upon completion of inspection, they informed her that three of the four rims had noticeable cracks in them. She was instructed to return with the vehicle on 3/19/2012 and the dealership would determine whether or not Nissan would pay for the replacement as, according to the service technician, is a known issue on these rims. I have called Nissan to learn that they do not have a recall on these rims but through internet searches have found out that this is a common issue. I find it disturbing that Nissan knows about this issue, there have been many complaints and/or accidents caused by these rims and yet nothing is being done to rectify the problem.
Tl - the contact owns a 2006 Nissan 350z. The contact stated that the front passenger side wheel rim developed a cracked, which caused the wheel to loose air pressure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who verified the failure and stated to the contact that the failure was caused by a manufacturing defect. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who offered to cover fifty percent of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 75,000. Kmj.
Heard some squeaking from front left tire. I inspected the chrome wheel and found all 5 spokes had cracks in them all the way through. I had the vehicle inspected and found all 4 chrome wheels had cracks and was advised to park vehicle as it was not safe to drive. I contacted the service manager at my dealership and he advised that the rims on my vehicle were sent out to be chromed by someone else other than Nissan causing Nissan not to be responsible for these cracked rims. This vehicle, a touring roadster 350z was bought new from a Nissan dealership with these chrome rims already on them, this other dealership also happens to be owned by the current dealership I go to. The service manager said the dealership also would not be responsible because they only warranty this for 3years/36,000. My vehicle has less than 19,600 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan 350z. The contact stated that the front and rear passenger side wheels were cracked. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vehicle was out of warranty and referred the contact to the dealer. The dealer was contacted and advised that the vehicle should be brought in for repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 79,120.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan 350z. While driving approximately 10 mph the contact heard a grinding noise coming in the front passenger side. The contact drove onto the emergency lane and noticed that the front passenger side wheel between the axle and the tire was broken. The other wheels were also cracked. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 46,800.
2005 Nissan 350z right rear wheel has a crack in one of the spokes which I noticed on September 19 2010. Consulted miller Nissan in van nuys California on September 20 2010. Service advisor claimed its normal wear and tear and warranty does not cover a replacement. I explained how it is a safety issue and a wheel should not crack with only 48,000 miles on the vehicle. I have owned 8 cars and have never had any safety issues such as this. He simply walked away and did not consult me as to the safety of driving the vehicle off the lot. I also contacted Nissan north America and I am waiting for a callback from one of their representatives.
1. Clicking noise heard from the drivers front wheel of car when braking two days prior to incident 2. The driver's side front outer portion of the wheel broke off, leaving the center portion of the wheel attached where the lug nuts attach the wheel to the car. All the spokes of the wheel broke apart. The outer portion of the wheel with the tire attached went bouncing across the road to oncoming traffic. The car came to a stop sliding on the ground leaving substantial body damage to the vehicle. This is a stock Nissan wheel that came with the car. This occurred after making a right hand turn coming off a freeway off ramp. 3. Towed the car to Nissan dealership. Dealership said the wheels are only warranted 3 years after the car was manufactured. The extended warranty does not cover the wheels. Nissan refused to perform any repairs on the vehicle.
On may 11,2010 I had my car towed to the local Nissan dealer on maui. The wheels on our car started to disintegrate and break up causing us to swerve and stop on the road. I was told by the dealer that because the car was out of warranty I would have to purchase new wheels for $5550. The factory rep john hookano, my wife and I met after two weeks of the car sitting at jim faulk Nissan with no follow up call. He showed us that the original wheels were aluminum alloy, and not chromed and stated they must be aftermarket or chromed without factory authorization, he then showed us a bulletin issued from Nissan 2008, stating their position not to chrome the wheels. We purchased a 2006 350z grand touring special edition which included navigation system, brembo brakes, basically every option including convertible. When I explained I purchased the car new from the dealer in arizona and they did a dealer trade for it. When it arrived from peoria arizona's Nissan dealer the chromed wheels were on it. We took delivery at lamb Nissan in prescott arizona, as is, we changed nothing. When I showed the factory rep a service repair order from when the warranty was in effect, which made reference to the clicking wheels and that we have continued to have issues with the tire pressure monitor system he ignored my comment. The car has less than 36,000 miles and yes the warranty expired. I did purchase an extended warranty in which I was told does not cover wheels. However I believe if the NHTSA inspector looked into this fault would be found with either the manufacturer or the dealer. I contacted lamb Nissan and the general manager ed walsh found the records that indicate I purchased the car with the wheels on it from the original dealer who took delivery of the car, and that it did in fact arrive with chrome Nissan wheels. He said I will credit $1000 to a new set. We emailed Nissan early on and got a response we will be contacted vanessa fiorello consumer affairs never returns my email.
Wheels on Nissan 350z that I purchased are cracking at all the spokes , Nissan has a service bulletin on the chroming process. Dealer sold me car without telling me about the problem. And my warranty wont cover it they said go to the dealer. Power niacin of chandler arizona is where I purchased the vehicle . My question is . . . . If a dealer has a vehicle that they are selling and it has a service bulletin on it about the wheels , shouldn't they replace the wheels before selling the car to someone ? , when my left rear wheel separated from all the spokes I was traveling west bound on the I-10 around buckeye az, the speed limit is 75 mph there. If I did not catch this right away I would have lost that rim and the damage could have possibly cost me my life.
I own a 2003 Nissan 350z with stock 7 spoke wheels and have found that my right front wheel(rim) has a crack in one spoke that goes all the way through. The left front wheel has 2 spokes that have cracks that are all the way through the spokes.
Was hearing noise and took car to dealership and was told that I have 4 cracked rims and should buy new ones for 3067. 00. I was told that yes the dealership does send there rims to be chromed but of course they said they didn't do mine. I told them I didn't do it. Nothing was done to fix the problem, was offered a free tow cause was told car was unsafe to drive. So I am out of pocket almost 1900. 00. The service manager at dealership told me if I wasn't willing to pay the 3067. 00 dollars for new rims that I should start by looking at the junk yard. I have 2 Nissan bulletins reference # ntb92-123a and ntb92-123c which clearly discourages what Nissan is doing regarding the chroming of rims.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan 350z. The contact noticed that the rear driver's side tire would excessively vibrate. He also noticed that the vehicle would sporadically drift without warning. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they repaired the hub assembly. Several weeks after the repair, the failure recurred on the front passenger tire. He took the vehicle to a local repair shop and the mechanic stated that the bearing needed to be replaced. The contact is in the process of taking the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was 7,000 and current mileage was 8,000.
Sometimes driving, I hear light crackling noise comes and goes. For 9 months checkup, I mentioned it to dealer. He said they test drove it and everything was fine. On sat evening, 8-25, the front rt side of rim cracked & came out bouncing off freeway! scary & dangerous! we just let the car slide and scrape on three wheels off the next exit. I had spare tire put on & slowly got the car back home, in shock! Monday I had car towed to nearest dealer & they weren't able to fix my car because of the wheels. I didn't know why. . . . But manager there called for my permission to have it towed back to my dealer with all charges paid by dealer. I was disappointed, disrespected, mistreated,& lied to. Bought car in good faith & they lied to me some more! I called nis manuf consumer affairs & found out that those rims were dipped chrome! dealer had nerve to give me same rims & try to return car back with damage breaking the discs & lower arm. Also repainted the scraped bumper. Have pics of sloppy work with camera phone. I explained to them I want it fixed brand new like when I first drove off that lot with it and I thought they understood. I still need pro to thoroughly inspect car. Although repairs made, I don't feel safe driving car anymore. I said fix car like when I first bought it- before the defective wheel came off with real rims. He ordered & placed it on my car. Sat night, dealer called to pick car up. I asked for invoice and papers. They said come back mon. Asked them to hand write that the rims are stocked & everything new like wanted so I can drive off feeling safe. They said can't. Again I left disappointed. Noticed headlights dimmer than before & one side higher than the other. Mon, told service manager about lights. Response, "we're supposed to just replace wheels. " don't know if I have right wheels or not. I need a new car . Dealer not concerned with public safety, only profits. I hurt emotionally & physically!.
I have a 2006 Nissan 350z convertible. I had the 06 wheels aftermarket powercoated in may 2007. Roughly a month later, I found that one of the wheels had cracked. I bought a replacement wheel, had the wheel powercoated to match the other three. Roughly 4 months later, I discovered two more wheels had cracked. Researching the cause of the cracks led me to the complaints filed earlier on the same wheel being affected by the chroming process. My biggest fear is as we alter the wheels, we are in essence aging the wheel and discovering it to be of substandard quality to begin with. I know of three others who have had atleast one wheel crack after powder coating. 4/9 wheels local to me have cracked and 1/4 in southern California.
: the contact stated while driving 65 mph on normal road conditions, the front right wheel separated from the vehicle and hit the right passenger door. The chrome wheel center was observed to be still attached to the base with the five nuts. When the other wheels were inspected, cracks appeared in the front and rear wheels on the driver side. The dealer stated the cracks from the wheels were due to the chroming process. Updated 08/29/06.
I received a notice in the mail from Nissan in the spring of 2004 concerning a toe out condition that could cause irregular tire wear on the inner edge of the front tires. I took my car in on 7/29/04 to the Nissan dealer & asked if this was going to be an ongoing problem with the z & was told,"no, once it is adjusted, it will repair the problem". Supposedly fixed, with new front tires and 1 year later, I returned to Nissan with the same issue. I questioned them about the previous year service & was told "I probably hit a pot hole and that I needed an alignment, which I was charged for, but my concerns about the tire feathering were ignored. After some research I found that the "03 z was manufactured with this factory defect which the newer models don't have. This tells me that this is fixable. Being a severe safety issue, the factory setting of the toe adjustmentwhich causes feathering on the inside front tires & their yearly needed replacement is clearly the liability of the manufacturer, not the consumer! what can be done about this?.
While driving 65 mph, the consumer noticed a yellow flash indicator light reading slip with cause unknown. The consumer released the throttle pedal and the speed control was not engaged. The vehicle continued to travel at 65 mph. The consumer applied the brakes, but the vehicle still continued at the same rate of speed, burning the brakes when the pedal was applied. Consumer depressed the clutch, but the rpm idled high. All of a sudden the problem disappeared. The dealership found that during installation of the wheels, the chrome plating of the front and rear wheel were mistakenly switched. The tech also stated that this could have been the reason for the malfunction and that the traction control system went into "fail safe mode" because it detected a size difference in the wheels. (pins where also missing).
