While driving my 2014 Nissan 370z with only around 43,000 miles, the car suddenly made a loud bang in the rear area and then would not shift normally in automatic mode while I was on the highway with my child in the car. When I inspected the underside afterward, there were no fluids leaking and I had not hit anything that could have caused the noise or malfunction of the output sensor. Shortly after, the vehicle went into limp mode and would not shift past 2nd or possibly 3rd gear. Manual mode also stopped working. This limited the car to around 25 mph, creating a dangerous situation in traffic since it could not accelerate normally. The check engine light came on, and a scan revealed a p0720 speed sensor circuit failure. The dealer advised replacing the valve body assembly at a cost of nearly $5,000. A transmission electronics failure of this kind at such low mileage is not normal wear and tear. Research shows that other Nissan and Infiniti owners with the same 7-speed automatic transmission have experienced the same problem. This appears to be a recurring defect that presents a serious safety risk when the vehicle suddenly loses acceleration ability.

Sunday January 7th I came out to my vehicle and noticed my clutch was on the ground. I go to check my clutch fluid reservoir to just to see that it is completely bone dry. Last time I had driven the car,” was on Friday January 5th and everything was fine. I’ve had this problem previously before where if I didn’t drive the car for roughly 2 weeks then my clutch fluid would be empty and I’d have to bleed my clutch. Now it has got to the point where my clutch is on the ground and I can’t get back up no matter how much I try to bleed it. I’ve looked into the issue online only to find out multiply people has the same issue with either the slave cylinder or the master cylinder to cause their clutch fluid to leak out, some even reported that their clutches started getting damaged as well!.

While driving vehicle on highway and city street at speeds between 45-65 mph, pressure warning light came on. Vehicle began fishtailing and tire blew. While pulling over tire came off rim. Tire brand: bridgestone potenza tire size: 275/35r19 tires are 7 months old; 2,265 miles put on new tires before blow out. Lucky I'm alive and did not hit another vehicle.
My automatic transmission has 40000 and it's already slipping going from 5th gear to 4th gear also when I do a hard stop the vehicle won't accelerate for a sec then it will jump into gear.

My vehicle is equipped with an electronic steering column lock (escl) that locks the steering wheel when the vehicle is parked and turned off to help prevent theft. On some vehicles, due to a manufacturing irregularity, the escl may malfunction after the vehicle has been locked and could prevent the engine from starting. This condition, should it occur, will only occur when attempting to start the vehicle, which happened with my Nissan 370z yesterday. Thank god I wasn;t stranded in the middle of nowhere. And luckily this did not happen in the middle of an intersection or other busy road. I have read that Nissan has already recalled this part for their 2009-10 Nissan altima, altima coupe, altima hybrid, and maxima vehicles but have not read about including their 2009-10 Nissan 370z models. Multiple 370z forums confirm that the 2009-10 370z models have the same issues as the recalled Nissan models. This needs to be corrected. 2009-10 Nissan 370z customers shouldn't have to pay for the new part and labor just like Nissan altima, altima coupe, altima hybrid, and maxima customers don't have to.

The light on the dash comes on reading there is not key in the car when in fact there is. It happens with both my fobs. Now, the car won't even start and I have to use the key to get inside it. Happened when stationary then while driving.
My push button start does not start the car. It goes to aac and the ignition but the car just sites there. It will not turn the engine. I was stranded one time and had to get towed home.
The problem: defective electronic steering column lock (escl) on 12/01/16 I had to have my vehicle towed to a local Nissan dealer after it became disabled by what I was advised was the failure of the escl unit. The cost of the repairs totaled $1094. 20. In addition, due to the lateness of the hour I arrived at the dealership, I was without the use of my vehicle that evening through midday of the following day. My own on-line research led me to the discovery that this mechanical failure is a known issue to Nissan, and there had been a TSB campaign a few years prior that I had not been notified of or included in by the Nissan corp. I have been a loyal Nissan consumer for years, and my current vehicle that was affected by this breakdown, is actually my fourth "z" vehicle. I am very disappointed and displeased by how Nissan has chosen to handle this issue.
My dash board is starting to melt. It has an oily residue that creates an bright glare in daytime driving making it hard to see safely .
My Nissan 370z is out of commission for a confirmed escl failure - a known recall part!!! Nissan refuses to help me in anyway. The vehicle would not start, I was told it had to be taken to a dealer before they would do anything to help me. I had it towed 35miles out of pocket. The technicians confirmed the escl failure. Nissan consumer affairs refused to do anything for me at all.
Went to go to work this morning and my clutch is stuck to the floor. . . Thought maybe it needed some grease or something so I gave it a few pumps but nothing. The car is not drivable at all!!! this is dangerous if I were actually driving down the road and this happen. Shame on you Nissan for not doing anything to correct this issue for a $70 part. People paying out of pocket $1,200 to fix!!! many people in the forums have also had this problem, please attend to this issue immediately. This needs to be recalled!!! im surprised no one has died from this issue yet.
So I have a 2010 370z (31k miles) and it has been running great up until yesterday. I got in to start it and it wouldn¿t start. The only thing I noticed was the intelligent key system warning light was on. Just to be sure, I checked the battery in my remote and, of course, also put the remote in the override slot and nothing. The battery in the car is also fine. Everything else seamed to work, lights, horn, doors unlock/lock. The start button said lock and it would not even turn to accessory mode. Steering wheel was in the un-locked position. Doing a little research online I¿ve found that it is more than likely a steering wheel lock problem that leads to the intelligent power distribution module. Apparently this is a fairly common problem and it seems to happen around 30-40k miles. So now I have the pleasure of having my car towed to the dealership so they can charge me (their estimate) $1500! I love my car but this is a problem that Nissan should deal with. There needs to be a recall on this!.
Was driving on the service road as I exited off the highway and I lost clutch pressure. This is a very common problem in the 370z and Nissan needs to fix this. There are hundreds of owners who have had this issue. I was left stranded on the service road with no clutch pressure.
Hi it is a 370z clutch pressure (csc) failures. People are complaining all over the place talking about how this is leaving people stranded especially on new vehicles. There's a post here about a brand new 2016 370z had a csc failure and had to be towed into the nearest dealership to get it fixed. Https://www. Reddit. I was driving to work one morning when my clutch pedal became limp. I was on the freeway getting ready to shift into 6th gear when I had no clutch resistance! I nearly crashed due to the lack of engagement. I took it to the dealership and they said I was out of warranty. This very same issue was fixed under warranty at 30,000 miles. The dealership either never replaced the parts they claimed to have replaced at 30k miles or they have failed again, just 35k miles later. These parts are the master cylinder and slave cylinder in the transmission. The issue has been going on with 2009-2015 models. Actually, it has been going on as far back as 2003 with the 350z, which was never addressed. I'm selling the car and hopefully the buyer doesn't crash and die from it. If he/she does, you should be held responsible for not addressing the issue. Many of the members on the370z. . Read more...
Loss of clutch pedal (csc) clutch slave cylinder and (cmc) clutch master cylinder.
Car ignition is stuck in lock after being parked to go into the mall. Known issue that Nissan issued recall for gtr which is a more expensive car but not for the z a less expensive car. Car will not start or power into acc mode so the windows are also stuck down and have no way of going up. Issue has been reported many times butthe lower end cars do not get a fixc for this and will leave the owners stranded.
Car would not start, it went into immobilization and would not come out. Windows rolled down, bottom displayed 'lock' and would not go into acc or start.
When go from park to reverse rear make clunk noise as soon as the car start moving, or driving at low speed when step on gas it also make clunk noise. Brought the car to dealership thinking its under manufacture 5 year/50k power train warranty only to find out its a not a warranty item and would not be covered. But its TSB number ntb12-055d. And its okay to keep driving with out the repair. Not sure if it would get worst over time will have to wait till it causes accident. Not feel safe driving the car with those noise.
On Monday 9/15/14 I attempted to start my car like I had done earlier in the day without any problems. When I went to push my start button, I noticed that nothing had happened at all except the illumination of a key lock light. After checking the gas, battery, and fuses, I did not know what to do about this issue. Today is 9/17/14 and when I attempt to start my car I have to depress the start button 7-10 times before it actually starts the car. I called a nearby Nissan dealership they said it probably had a steering lock failure, which is a common occurence in the 2009-2010 370z.
Stopped the vehicle at a gas station to refuel. Upon completion of refueling, depressed the brake and pressed the starter button (normal starting procedure). The starter indicator would not change from "lock", the vehicle would not crank, and no accessories would activate. The vehicle was subsequently towed to a local Nissan dealer. After evaluation, dealer stated the "steering lock" unit had failed. After an internet search, this appears to be part 48700-jf00d. The Nissan dealer representative stated this issue is covered under a TSB, but I cannot confirm at this time. The dealer stated the part will not be available for at least two weeks, and Nissan will not offer a courtesy vehicle. Internet searches show this has been a common problem for 370z owners since 2009, and the steering lock was removed in 2012 models forward. I feel Nissan should have done a mandatory recall for a part that is likely to fail at any time and leave the driver stranded.
While driving the car under normal driving conditions, the clutch pedal would not come up from the floor after coming to a stop at a stop sign. After letting the car sit for approx. 90 minutes, the clutch pedal operation appeared to return to normal. I went online to research this problem and found this. . . Per Nissan: subject: sb 370z coupe and roadster; clutch pedal does not return to rest position summary of ntb13026: if you confirm: the clutch pedal on an applied vehicle does not return to its normal (rested) position after being depressed to the floor or the customer states the clutch pedal on an applied vehicle does not return to its normal (rested) position after being depressed to the floor there are no leaks in the clutch hydraulic system*. Action: change the clutch hydraulic system fluid with gt-r r35 special brake fluid (see parts information). - refer to service procedure for bleeding procedure. See this bulletin for further detail. I took the car to a local Nissan dealership and they were able to replicate the problem. Their solution was to replace the clutch fluid withe the gtr r35 special brake fluid as described in the service bulletin. However, I've read multiple reports that this "fix" only holds up temporarily and, that eventually the csc (concentric slave cylinder) and/or the cmc (clutch master cylinder) fail. Many, many 370z owners have had to have both the csc & cmc replaced. The Nissan dealership where I took my car said they would replace those parts but, only if I experience the clutch pedal failure again. My feeling is that they should've replaced these parts when they replaced the fluid since they're aware that merely changing the fluid is not really fixing the problem since the csc & cmc so often fail even after the fluids have been changed.
Attempted to start vehicle. Keyless entry system not working. Vehicle would not start. Had car flat bed towed to Nissan. They said that it was the steering lock. There have been multiple complaints from consumers who own 2009-early 2010 Nissan 370z. This part should be recalled by Nissan since it prevents starting the car, thereby leaving you stranded. Nissan had a recall on the gtr's but not the 370z. This is what happens when you try to start the car. Without warning, the electric lock fails to unlock, sending error message to the bcm. The car will not start in this case and will flash the intelligent key warning in the cluster. Nissan is well aware of the faulty locks they installed and choose to ignore it. They stopped using these locks ( revb, revc etc) on the 2012 z's entirely.
Slave cylinder on my 370z had a catastrophic failure. Nissan put an inferior slave cylinder in their 370z models. My slave cylinder had a catastrophic failure while sitting at a stop. Thankfully I was not on the highway. The tech that replaced the part said their was virtually nothing left from the slave cylinder because it was made out of inferior material. Nissan wanted $2,000 to replace and install the same inferior part because to them it is not considered part of the drive train even though this part is required for the drive train to operate. This item should not be considered wear and tear. Had to take my vehicle to a place that specializes in Nissan 370z to get an upgraded part put into my vehicle for less than half the cost Nissan wanted. Clutch engagement and feel is better than brand new no thanks to Nissan.
