Floor board on passenger side front has rusted out. Car is always washed, and this is the only signs of abnormal rust on the car.
While driving the clutch pedal will loose all pressure and will fall to the floor. The vehicle must be shut off and left prior the pressure building back up in the clutch. This is extremely dangerous as the driver is unable to shift gears or put the vehicle in neutral. This is a notorious problem with all Nissan Altima se-r with manual gear boxes. This problem will cause an accident and get someone killed. Tt.
While driving on the I-95 I began to approach slower traffic. As I proceeded to slow down, all the dash lights came on, my steering got stiff, and the car was completely off. When I pulled over and attempted to start the car again it hesitated but eventually it started. However, the most recent incident that has occur, the car no longer starts at all and only cranks but won't turn over.
As I was driving from delaware to new york, I hit the I-95 around 5pm; typical rush our time. As I began to approach heavy traffic I proceeded to slow down. By the time my speed decreased to 25mph, my steering wheel got stiff and the car felt light as if the car was completely off and left in neutral and rolling down a hill. Indeed the car had stalled, and all my dash lights switched on (alt, oil, brake and battery lights). I tried my best to steer into the emergency lane to avoid any possible accidents.
1. For the past year the clutch pedal depresses to the floor during periods of increased use. Started out happening once every other week. Clutch would still engage until Friday June 3rd, 2011. Clutch failed to engage in traffic. 2. Failure starts during increased use, heavy traffic, & during hot days, epically when when air conditioner is used. Incident started occurring about 1 year ago and has increased in frequency, happening now at least 5 times a week. Sometimes it will happen 3 times a day. When it finally failed I was in traffic & unable to shift any gears. 3. Managed to drive car to repair shop where I was told the clutch had completely failed. Having it replaced now. Car is only at 60,000 miles. Nissan forums have many owners experiencing same problems with the clutch failure.
I was driving my 2005 Nissan Altima se-r 6 speed manual when the clutch just sank to the floori was in rush hour traffic and head could not go at the light. After a couple of times the clutch went back to normal pressure. About 30 minutes later it happened again, but the clutch never went back to pressure I have been reading forums online, and this happens to be a problem for most 02-06 Nissan Altima owners with manuals. Nissan needs to own up to the problem and fix this safety hazard.
This car was part of a recall due to a engine cooling defect, they claimed it was fixed. Then all of a sudden last year my heat wouldn't work, instead the air conditioner would just kick on, could not be fixed. I had no heat last winter. I had a friend who was a mechanic look at it this year take a look at it and made a temp fix and I have heat some of the time. He disconnected the a/c for now. This shouldn't happen to a 5 now 6 year old car. Try being in 0 degree weather with the air conditioner blowing at you and being told they don't know whats wrong. This has to be a defect because I have had many 10-15 year old cars and never have had this problem this needs to be addressed to that I can have heat, and now that my a/c is disconnected I would like to have my defroster working, but a small price to pay for not getting frost bite in the frigid temps.
What once was two decent sized rust areas on the floorboard of my Nissan Altima is now two gaping holes in which you can see and put your hand straight through and touch the ground outside if it wasn't for the carpet. I first noticed it when I was getting an oil change and my mechanic pointed out to me. The it all made sense because when ever it rained or snowed badly in my area I would always have wet floors and at first I thought something was leaking but I now know it's the two rust corrosion spot in the floorboard. And some days the odor from the wetness on the carpet is pungent. One is on the driver side and the other is right on the passenger side. I was looking through my warranty and vehicle info books that came with the vehicle and it definitely shows that rust warranty is lifetime or something to that nature I am going to look at it once again and ensure if that information is correct.
I received a notice from you guys after the fact. My car dealership(service guy). I went to the repair shop for something else and that's how I found out of the recall. Something could've happen to me or someone else while driving this car without warning. They did reprogram the car module. But I don't think that's the issue the car is still driving as it did before and I hope I did not purchase one of your many cars I've heard of as a lemon. I really need to know my next steps in looking into getting a upgrade on this vehicle because I really love these Altimas. I don't want to have to go to a dealership and go through the whole process again. Please let me know if I can take this car to a Nissan dealership to switch it out I only have 34,399 miles on this car. This was the second recall on this car and I only had this car a year I traded in my galant 01 and that only had 59,732 miles on it so I'm not hard on cars I take care of things. My safety is very important to me I don't want to hurt no one and I don't want no one to hurt me or get killed. I'm bringing this matter to your attention first asking you to also don't put my safety or nobody else in jeopardy. Please respond back to me so this matter can be resolved quickly. Thank you , alfreda thomas.
The Nissan dealership performed a recall on our vehicle on 06/10/2008 for the r0712 ecm program recall and the p5216 recall. Since that work, the service engine soon light has been on in the vehicle which reported a valve problem. Prior to this work being done, the light did not go on. We have had the car serviced 4 times for the the repair of the valve, and now a full diagnosis needs to be done to figure out why the valve keeps shorting out. It appears it is going to be something electrical or with the computer.
I purchsed a 2005 Nissan Altima in 2006 with 13, 000 miles. Shortly after purchasing it, I began to have issues with a "spongy" clutch. . . Meaning it would become very loose. Often it would have to be pumped and then shoved into gear. I brought the car to a local Nissan dealer complaining of the issues with the clutch. They had it for a day and couldn't find anythng wrong with it. Of course, back then it was still under warranty. The problem never went away. In fact, it became worse until it was finally a safety issue. This clutch issue would occurr at random times in different weather making it very difficult to predict or avoid. Often, I was driving in traffic and unable to shift into the next gear. Eventually, I had to have the master and slave cylinder replaced and the entire clutch system replaced at my own expense. Both were temporary solutions. Again, I had problems with the clutch. My car clutch now sticks to the floor making it impossible to switch gears. This is very dangerous. Often I am struggling to get the car moving in traffic or at turns putting me and my children in danger. Before I pay to have the same issue repaired again, I did some research this time, and this seems to be a common problem among this year and make of Nissan. To me, this is an issue that Nissan needs to address as it is a safety issue for thei consumers. I have records of all repairs beginning with the initail complaint. In my opinion, Nissan needs to be accountable and recall and fix the problems before it results in a fatal accident.
Doors leak water, especially driver's side door - water pools after rain.
My car is a lemon.
I purchased a 2005 Nissan Altima in 2006, and in 2007 I started having trouble with the car just stopping when I was driving, this has happened several times, thank god I have not had any serious injuries because of this. My mechanic stated that this was a problem with something dealing with my engine computer resulting in circuit malfunction with my crankshaft, and engine speed sensor, the problem with the crankshaft resulted from me having to restart my car after just stopping on me. I don't feel like I should have to be responsible for repairs if there has been a recall on the very part of this vechicle that has resulted and lead up to the problem that I am having at this time. I have mentioned this to Nissan and explained the problem that I am having, and seems to me that the company is just trying to get out of their responsibility of the mistake that was made when building this vehicle. The recall letter clearly states that if the dealer fails, or is unable to make the necessary repairs free of charge, I may contact the national consumeraffairs department. Thank you for you time in this matter, and hope that it can be resolved in a timely matter.
