3 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2019

Got 2005 Nissan Altima 2. 5 s, recently came to find out that my car has a feet sized rust holes showing floor carpet beneath driver and passenger seats. These rust holes at the bottom of car were not only causing safety risk for people in the car but also sends fumes, carbon monoxide, foul smells, humidity and road noise into the car interior causing health risks. I am very disappointed at quality of Nissan's automotive and Nissan authorized dealers who never informed about this defect after performing multi point inspections, even when my car was within extended warrranty period. I really hope to get justification.

10 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2019

2005 Altima 2. 5sl, 150000 miles. The passenger side floorboard was sagging, so I looked under the car and it was gone. The floorboard had rusted itself away and the seat is at risk of falling off in a car accident. It has rusted more than any car of its age. I bought the car used and realised this not a year after.

11 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2018

Underneath the floor boards on both sides are rusting out. The drivers side is especially bad. I have owned the car since it was new but just recently noticed this problem. Also the paint ont the hood, top and exterior review mirrors has faded. Otherwise the car seems to be in good shape. It has 119,560 miles on it and I planned on using it for a while longer. We have owned a total of 5 Nissans beginning in in 1989 and all have been good vehicles. We are currently leasing a rogue. I am hoping that Nissan will take care of this problem. Even though I have been a loyal Nissan owner for many years I'm not past changing brands, and will when this lease is up if they can't do something about these floor boards at the very least. I feel that this could cause issues in a number of ways. One is exhaust fumes entering the car, another would be objects from the road flying up through the floor and injuring the driver or passenger.

Failure Date: 11/07/2017

Upon inspection prior to trying to privately sell my car, it was found that the floorboards were rusting out and there are actual hole on the underside of the car. Apparently, upon me googling, this is a known design issue (rather than normal wear and tear) for Nissans between 2002-2006. To fix the car will cost me more than it is worth. Not only that, but holes in the floorboards are also a huge safety concern.

15 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2017

Hole on passenger side due to rust/corrosion.

16 Body problem

No body mentioned me up to now that there is a heavy rust under driver side. I have only 83000 miles on this car and always kept in garage. I went to Nissan dealer and they are asking $2500 to fix this issue,I am feeling unsafe to drive, I do see that every one have same issue. This is the biggest safety issue, I need your help for this recall as soon as possible. Passenger side have same issue too. Now I do have a big hole under my carpet. My wife don't. Want to drive and I am also scared to drive.

20 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2017

I own a 2005 Nissan Altima and both front driver and passenger floor boards rusted through totally. Would not pass PA. Inspection. Per my mechanic rusted because how Nissan routes the drain hose for the air conditioner cause the premature/unsafe holes. It was very dangerous to ride in the car, to where injury was certain. Took to auto body shop and they also said the same cause for the rusted out floor boards. My Nissan Altima wasn't the first Nissan Altima they replaced the floor boards. Again they stated very dangerous to operate this car! it cost me $528. 94 for this repair! I want reimbursed! I only included the passenger picture of floor board due to size allowed to download. The driver side just as bad!.

21 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2017

Reporting rotting floorboard on my 2005 Nissan Altima. It's a possible safety concern as vapors could enter passenger area. This seems to be a design flaw and would hope Nissan as a self proclaimed top safety pick would stand behind this issue I believe there have been many complaints on this floorboard issue. Please advise.

22 Body problem

Driver & passenger side floorboards rusted through resulting 1. Increased road noise 2. Air entering vehicle while driving 3. Water entering the vehicle, and soaking the carpeting in rain storms, etc possibly creating mold 4. Easy access for rodents/vermin.

23 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2016

I started leasing my Altima in 2008 and purchased the car about 4 years later. I took it to have my muffler checked, because I heard noise, and it was found that the floorboard on the front , passenger side, is completely rusted out. The only thing between my passengers and the street is the carpet. Nissan said there is no recall. The car is only 11 years old!.

24 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2016

My 2005 Nissan Altima has major rusting on the passenger side of the vehicle. This was found after the carpet on the inside of the car started falling through the floorboard. This issue almost had my wife's foot through the floor, without her knowing. This has been reported (via research and reports on the news) to both Nissan and NHTSA and both state it is not a safety issue. How is this not a safety issue if you don't know about it and you could put your foot through the floor?.

25 Body problem

Driver side floor board rusted through.

28 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2016

My Altima is well maintained car bought all new from Nissan dealership. State of pennsylvania needs state inspection done every year and this year my Altima failed safety inspection. Meaning, my car is deemed not safe to drive on the street because of Nissan Altima's design flaw making floor-board behind front wheels go rusted. I use the car to commute everyday to work, unknowingly exposing myself to unforeseen danger. Nissan should have addressed this common issue happening to many other consumers before any life threatening incident occur to their so called "customers".

29 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2016

My 2005 Nissan Altima passenger side floorboard has rusted through. After speaking with a local welding shop I discovered that this is a "typical" issue with older Nissan's. They informed me they have seen this on about 6 Nissan's in my area. I feel even if a recall has not been called, I should have been informed somehow of the potential issue. There seems to be a design flaw as this is not just a rare occurrence. My vehicle has just under 107,000 miles and I am baffled how the other body areas show no signs of rust with the exception of one area of floorboard. I am not providing a photo as this has been reported nationally for some time now and it doesn't appear anything will be done about it. You can google "Nissan floorboard rust" if you need a visual.

30 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2016

Rust through of undercarriage under passenger and driver seats. Widely known problem that Nissan is aware of but refuses to issue a recall on. The rust occurs from the inside out due to inadequate drainage of water. Found out about it just today while getting an oil change.

31 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2016

I purchased a used 2005 Nissan Altima - only to find my passenger floor near the door is rotted/rusted out!! I do not have money to spend thousands to repair this. Why isn't there a recall? I have seen many many posts on the matter but unfortunately only after I bought the car!.

32 Body problem

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Altima. While the vehicle was parked on an incline, the contact observed that the floorboard on the front passenger side was corroding through and a hole was forming. 33 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

The drivers side floor board is rusted through. This is a known problem and a safety issue not to mention you can smell exhaust fumes. Nissanproblems, com says: "a class-action lawsuit filed in the northern district of illinois" but Nissan is turning their back saying this is not a defect.

34 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2016

We noticed something hanging down from under passenger side and found that both sides of the floorboard are comepletely rusted out with big holes in the floor!! we have a 2005 Nissan Altima. We called a body shop and they said it would cost over $2000 to fix. How is this not a recall and safety issue?? Nissan do you not care about your customers safety?? we were gonna buy another Nissan maybe a Nissan rogue but if this is how they(Nissan) take care of their owners then im not so sure!! step up Nissan and do the right thing!!!!!.
