general problems of the 2005 Nissan Altima

Hello, I am the owner now of this vehicle snd I see the recalls have not been taken care of? what do I do in order to get them repaired ?.

When I was in aacident in 2006 airbags did not open. I worry about valve cap and if it is safe. Other this when openning my door door handle are defected and breaking off. I never had a car where door handles break. I would like assistance with these issues. Thank you. Debra dixon-customer.

Brought the car augv18th warranty ended Sep 18th. Inthat time car was taken back for engine related issues also no heat was . The car was taken back twice for repairs. Then yesterday car stopped running completly on sept 23rd. They said the repaired the car and gave it back to me on sept 19th.

At first we thought it was the belt because the belt from coming off you change the serpentine belt and then it would run for a little bit then it started to stop and not be able to get enough fuel to the gas pedal and I'd have to rev it up. We opened it up where the spark plugs were on the valve covers and it was halfway full of oil we got all the oil out when we ordered a new valve cover and spark plugs the car run fine for one day now it will not start again. The fan turns on like it is running but there is no power to the car at all. I read that after the oil gets into the valve covers there's really no fixing it after that. And every time that we fix it only last for one day and so it's very dangerous for me and my daughter to be driving around in that unreliable car what can I do about the recall.

What is the deal with this engine? this car has less that 120k miles. It seems I get a lot of interference when I'm driving it. The car will randomly force speed causing me to swerve on the highway. When my phone is plugged in it seems to misfire and check engine lights come on. H2o sensors come on, cache files about the fuel system lands on my phone. Samsung has submitted tests on my spen that are affecting my safety. Fcc id a3lejpn970 fcc id a3lsmn970u. I have had several car accidents since buying samsung phones. The cars will increase speed as if I am ready to run into a brick wall. This car doesn't have a lot of mileage but something is going on with the timing and engine. I can be in motion or stationary, it is constantly affecting the fuel system.

Takara recall. Sensors are malfunctioning also my muffler is going. Check engine has been on but started blinking when sensor's started acting up. Cant afford to fix this being how I'm a single mother and low income. I herd about this recall on my 05 Altima. And had to check it out.

Fuel custer gage.

Car shuts down no power will not start. Back up on the freeway it just shuts off with no warning this is not the first time this problem will kill me or ppl around me on the road. It will stop and you can't put on your brakes nor steer to move to a save place.

I was driving myself and CO worker home from work. While driving down a city street my car just stalled out and would not start. I could have been on the highway, our lives were put at risk due to a defect in the cam shaft position censor on my 2005 nissian Altima.

Vehicle engine stoped while approaching traffic light. Was a little late in starting up again. It just died. Went to autozone,gave me a code po335,which indicated a fault in the crankshaft position sensor. Call the local Nissan dealer and asked for a ecm reprograming,which is covered on recall ro606,nothing was done. Please help.

My gas guage read half, while turning car ran out of gas. Power steering and brakes failed when engine shut off. Fortunately I was turning into inside lane on 8 lane street because it took all 5 lines to safel roll to stop. After asking Nissan 700 to check fuel system senso 4/bolt 1 plug solid piece. Went to aaa $150 to check and determined guage not sensor. $600 to maybe repair part. Called Nissan 6 bolts 1 plug to replace guage module with 3rd party repaired used module from another state. Module has to be sent prior to 3rd party sending part. Internet horror stories. 6-60 day turn around and vehicle cannot be driven while part is out of car. Main reason: speedometer and odometer are part of module. Module requires reprogramming to current vehicle mileage before moving. Nissan should carry parts in stock due to both dangerous safety and mileage issues related to failure of either module ar fuel sensor. I am pretty strong although 66 but youger, female or older folks in similar situations could end up in building, tree or anothe vehicle. Not knowing when car is die without warning is a dire safet issue. . Recalls should be enforced by failure numbers, not %age of failures per model. 50% of a model that sold 200 is not as dangerous as 50% of 100,000 sold. The 2005 Altima ser was a very limited model of Altima but oem parts should be available until at least a majority of them are off the road when the relate to safety. Nissan seems to get away with out recalls for safety recalls, high frequency issues, service guaging and from what I hear known lemon problems. Why????.

Catalytic converter has gone bad on low mileage, single owner, well maintained car. This is a widespread problem with 2002-2005 Nissan Altima. What makes the problem worse is that the converter disintegrates and gets sucked into the engine and cause engine damage and stalling. Spoke to Nissan customer care and escalated to executive response team at Nissan, and they are unwilling to accept responsibility for a faulty part for which they had issued 3 tsbs but refuse to accept responsibility for the defective part and subsequent damage to engine. This should be a recall or at least a warranty extension.

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Altima. The contact stated when foot was on the gas pedal the vehicle would not accelerate. The fuel fuller hose is corroded the check engine light illuminated. The failure is recurring. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic was unable to locate the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 204,000. Kw.

Eratic idle, random misfire, bad mpg, car is sluggish I believe the power valve is the issue.

The car stalled out. . . Almost got hit. . . . Had the throttle body replaced. . Looked online and saw there was a recall for this year model and part. . . Got in touch with Nissan and they said there was no recall on this particular VIN. . From what I read all Nissan Altima's were recalled for this part. . I also did not recieve notice. Can someone check this VIN ast safercar. Gov and let me know . . . Thank you. . . Ps this car has very low milage and is well maintained.

Rough idle. 3 years ago it did the same thing and I had the 0'2 sensors replaced and the crankshaft position sensor replaced. I drive it in town so in the 3 years I have put about 25,000 miles on it. The service engine soon light is on now and Nissan told me that I need to take it to a dealership and pay them to check out the engine and send Nissan the results and they "may" reimburse me for the cost of checking it out. I just replaced the spark plugs last week because I was told them needed replaced. It ran fine for a little while now back to same things. I have noticed that it leaks a little oil, about the size of a nickel over the course of 2-3 days. There is also oil round the crankcase. Wondering why might be. Thanks.

"sensor" problem" - from this approximate, back to purchase of this vehicle, it has been a night-mare. Insurance, insurance, insurance, sensor, sensor, sensor, emc, "check engine light (2xs), are just the m/o for the 2005 Nissan Altima 2. 5 s. Please look into this matter before we have many more tradgedys!!! do this for the people. The evidence is there. My personal opinion: "safety" was last & inferior parts were 1st. I have documentation. Please call for a more detail list. Some info I do not have due to me not knowing of past & recent recalls on parts on the vehicle, therefore the dealer, replaced the part with-out my knowledge. It was not until I reviewed past receipts that recall repairs were done. I am a very unhappy customer & I am getting the run around. I hope an investigation can be started for the "safety" of others. The bbb auto line, etc, was another avenue I was told to take. Please guide me thru this process. Thank you.

Car will not accelerate and creeps along in limp home mode. Its vehicle speed control problem is exactly the same as NHTSA recall 13v43000 of sept. 26, 2013, that affects Nissan Infiniti models. After stopping and restarting once or twice the problem will disappear. In traffic this is very dangerous. It happens 2 or 3 times a year.

I would start the car and it would hesitate I took it in to goodyear they said it had a bad sensor have to do with the fuel senor they changed it and as time has passed it stil does the same thing Nissan wont fix it until the engine lite goes on ive gone thru these complaints here on this site and all are exactly like mine, you start the car and it seems like it wants to start but doesnt I have to try it a few times then it will start.

Car stalling at in traffic, stop lights, and while driving. I was told to replace air filter and have fuel injector service. I did. Car began stalling again. I was told to have throttle body cleaned. I did. Engine light on . Hose put back on. Engine light on again. Was told there was code for idle valve but they didn't know how to address it. They reset computer. Car stalling again. Barely made it across intersection to get to dealership. Nissan replaced air filter, cleaned fuel injectors (again) and replaced crack shaft sensors. I just got car today. The car stalling while driving seems a bit dangerous.
