Tl the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Altima. While driving 60 mph, the rear control arm detached from the vehicle. The contact pulled the vehicle over and had it towed to his home. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and stated that the control arm was welded from aluminum to metal and he could not perform the repair. The dealer (Nissan kia of middletown, 4961 NY-17m, new hampton, NY 10958, (845) 374-6555) stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 213,000.
