Transmission failed at 149,000 miles while driving on a highway.
Tl - the contact owns a 2009 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while her son was driving unknown and the engine stalled. The contact stated the vehicle had the same symptoms as an unknown NHTSA campaign. The vehicle was taken to a dealer jeffery Nissan ( 30800 gratiot Ave, roseville, mi 48066. 586-510-1378) who diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the transmission had failed and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000. Jc.
Transmission failed. Took to dealership for repair. They took a transmission fliuid sample and sent to Nissan for testing. Nissan denied warranty claiming the fluid was contaminated. They want $5400 for repair. What are my options?.
Transmission failed. Will not go forward or reverse. Was in motion driving out of my driveway to work. Thank goodness it did not happen in heavy traffic. Nissan has denied the extended warranty.
Traveling on a CA freeway the transmission suddenly loses power due to transmission overheating and had to pull over on the side until it cooled down. The car had 85,000 miles and was covered under warranty and so a new transmission was installed. 2 years and 60,000 miles later while on the freeway, the transmission completely fails putting the driver in danger of trying to pull to the side of the freeway. The transmission was completely destroyed and no longer covered under warranty.
Cvt transmission failure, manufacturer extended warranty to 10 years, 120k miles because they used a bad product. My vehicle has 140,000 miles so Nissan declined to cover repair cost. My vehicle showed no sign of issues until it suddenly wouldn't engage at a stop light on a busy highway. It is frustrating that a manufacture this size pushes a known issue under the rug instead of recalling the defective vehicles.
The transmission failed at 170,000 miles on my Nissan Altima while my husband was driving it on the interstate.
Around 11:30am on 05/15/2013 while driving the vehicle there was an immediate loss of acceleration. The vehicle was coasted into retailers parking for which it had to be towed to the dealership to determine the issue. Once the dealership was able to diagnose the vehicle they came back with cvt transmission failure. They mentioned they were having issues with cvt transmission in my version of Altima, but would be unable to cover the cost of a replacement transmission of $4,000. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs to file a claim and was given a case number for reference. I received a call back within 24-hours of placing the initial call. However the representative stated that based of the review of my case they would again be unable to cover any cost associated with replacing the transmission. To note, no review of my vehicle was conducted. To make a long story short I have replaced the transmission with a used transmission, but after researching there are numerous cases of transmission failures in Nissan Altima's yet Nissan is not recalling and replacing the transmission. The failure could have caused a crash and is not safe. Someone needs to look into these failures before someone get hurt!.
