1 Engine Engine Control Module (ecu/ecm) problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2021

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was jerking with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact disconnected and reconnected the battery and the mass air flow sensor to correct the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to emissions recall campaign number: r1720 (non-methane organic gases (nmog) engine control module (ecm) reprogram) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
