I had driven about 350 miles using the cruise control I would accelerate or cancel and then accelerate with traffic this worked throughout my trip until I reached between 350 to 400 miles then it stopped working for acceleration at 75 miles an hour would not go any faster with the steering column controls or the gas pedal.
Was driving on the interstate using cruise control at 70mph. The rpms suddenly increased to around 6,000. After that happened, the service engine light came on and I had trouble accelerating and the rpms were never able to get over 3,000, even with the gas pedal pressed all the way. It was difficult to get any acceleration and the car would make a whining noise whenever pressing on the gas.
