Vehicle just lost all power while driving on a busy highway. No power at all, almost tail ended by another vehicle that swirled into emergency lane to avoid hitting me. Unable to use hazard lights, as there was no power to the car. Luckily I had a portable jumper and had to exit my car and stand in front of vehicle with hood up, unable to see traffic coming and very scared of getting hit because I had no hazard lights. Vehicle finally started and would barely accelerate, I was able to make it to work. I live over an hour from work and now I'm scared to drive home on the interstate. There are numerous posts about this, I found while trying to find out what happened, several others have been in near miss accidents due to the exact same reason and have reported this but Nissan is making no effort to find and fix the problem. I could have been hurt badly having this happen where it did and I am notifying whoever is necessary about this situation, because if something happens to me while driving my car and it's related to this issue that Nissan is aware of, my family will be suing along with many others I'm sure. I had no power, no steering, no control at all.

The wiper blades suddenly stopped working during a heavy downpour. My son was driving on the interstate at the time and attempted to get off on a side road as he had very limited visibility which resulted in a head on collision with another vehicle coming in the opposite direction on the side road.

The airbag light that is under the dash board always turns on all of a sudden I am concerned the airbags might open or their migght be something wrong and god forbid in a accident they dont open also the suspention has always had issues.

The dashboard is completely melting and it is getting sticky and dangerous to drive. It produces a glare and it obstructs the view. The glare is stopping me from seeing the cars and objects in front of me. It is extremely dangerous.

Im driving down the freeway taking the curve downtown dallas & my car stalls o power available. I cannot steer to coast, nor put can ion emergency flashers. Where it dies it sits. This is a major safety issue and Nissan cannot figure out why. I have only had car for 2 months. Very disappointed and scared.

While driving on the interstate to FL from ky at around 65-75 mph the vehicle would not accelorate past 3000 rpm's. Going up hills was the worst, cars would pass and our vehicle would slowly decline in speed. Pulled over to check the car out and after if cooled down it when back to working okay but after another hour on the road it done the same thing.

Leaking sunroof. When we get a heavy rain, water leaks through the sunroof on the passenger side.

Paint is coming off the car from where the factory has repainted over a clear coated surface. Paint is also coming out of the jams of the car causing rust. Parts on the car are also starting to break down. The seats do not properly catch the gear holding them into place. Transmission makes a terrible winding noice.

Keylock issue. Car will not start. Sitting in driveway for 8 months so far. Cannot afford to fix. No warranty. . No recall on issue. I've read this has happened many times to other Nissan owners. The fix costs 800 to 1000 & not including the tow fee 100$.

Today was the second time I've experienced this dangerous issue while driving on the freeway for about an hour and a half long. My car began to lose speed and would not accelerate above 60 mph. While I had the gas pedal down completely all the way to the floor, as the car could not gain speed. I could have been in a serious accident with all the traffic on the freeway, I had to merge over to the far right for safety. I drove my car immediately after to Nissan so they could verify this issue. They failed to help me in any way recommending I invest in a cvt cooler, due to not being covered under warranty anymore. A couple months back when the car was still under warranty I took it to Nissan with the same issue, at that time they stated they could not detect an issue. But now my warranty is up they're suggesting what the car needs. I'm very upset with how dangerous this can be and how careless Nissan is. It's like they are just waiting for someone to seriously be hurt in an accident to then do something about it.

I was driving home from work the morning of 6/25 on the highway. My sunroof was open and my driver side window was open. I heard a large bang that sounded like a gun shot and tiny pieces of shattered glass flew in through my open sunroof. There was no other damage to my car and nothing that hit my car. My sunroof spontaneously exploded. Because my sunroof was open at the time thousands of pieces of glass broke throughout the roof. I am bringing to Nissan tomorrow to assess damage to the actual sunroof but I believe this is a manufacturer defect and should be covered by the dealership.

The dash is melting creating a shiny residue covering the dash. When the sun or bright lights guys at night is shining the shiny dash reflects on the windshield creating a glare that obstructs your vision while driving or turning on any highway or road. The service dept at my local dealer took photos and sent it to Nissan about 18 months ago and I have heard nothing. It is getting so badd that while driving it has started obstructing the vision of the roadway.

I was driving my car and engine just cut off completely with no system warnings or anything. Initially, I thought this was a fluke and something I had done. Car started back immediately. As a result, I thought nothing else of it until the car did the same thing again while I was stopped at a red light later the same day (again there were no warning lights on control panel. This has occurred on 2 other occasions. Car was taken to repair shop were nothing was found wrong. Since then I have had trouble with the positive battery cable connection. Unsure if the two are related. Needs further investigation as this is potentially dangerous.

Door locks would not disengage 5 times in two years. Most recent on Thursday for forty minutes! pretty sure it's a cold weather issue, but definitely a safety hazard. Especially for a 67 year-old, arthritic, 260lb. School crossing guard who took 5 minutes to get up and over the console and finally force his way out of the passenger side door! it was only a couple degrees below zero, so I'm a little surprised it took 40 minutes for the driver's door to unlock. I leave the door unlocked overnight, but when I leave for school in the morning, the darn doors lock automatically at 15mph and I can't get out once I reach my destination! so I went to the Nissan dealer and paid 51 simoleons to have the auto doorlock mechanism disabled! gotta be a better way!.

I was at a red light and the car just shut down. I had to turn the car off and restart it! this is the second time this has happened. The first time about a year ago. I thought I had done something to make it happen the first the first time. Now I know it is the car. This is serious and scarey! from reading the complaints I see this has happened to others and while they were driving!.

The carpet is loose around the area when the car mat attached. Causing the mat to move and get stuck under the gas pedal. I have talked to couple of Altima owner and it the same. I have not seen a recall on this yet.

This vehicle has lost power at highway speeds 3 times now. Just driving along and it just starts slowing down on its own. Running 70mph and it just loses power and it slows to around 25mph. You mash the gas pedal to the floor and it has no effect, it will not increase speed. You pull over, shout the car off and restart and it runs fine again. You get no warning lights, no codes. This is a dangerous situation and should be looked into. Dealership said they have never heard of such a thing. I see someone else has filed a complaint with the same problem now maybe you will take a closer look at this very serious issue.

On Monday night at 12:00am I was driving from California to las vegas nevada. I was going 75 miles an hour when the car started to loose speed. The excel-orator would not move and had locked. The car speed had dropped to 40mph and would not move. There was a semi in front of me and two other vehicles to the side of me. I almost got into a big accident. I was able to pull over to the side. Terrified, I began to panic so I shut the car off. I drove the next 60 miles to vegas going 30mph the car would not go to a higher speed. When I took the car to the dealer they said it was a safety feature. I do not understand how a safety feature would deliberately jeopardize the safety of the driver. It is driving on the highway for fear that this may happen again.

We were driving on the interstate at about 70 mph and were unable to accelerate. Accelerator peddle all the way to the floor and the most we could go was 45 mph. Had the car towed to a Nissan dealership and found out it was the shift select assembly that had broken/malfunctioned and the car had gone in to failure mode. There was not warning light at all and this could have been very dangerous on the interstate. First I feel that this part of the car should never have broken in a 2-year old car and I have to wonder if there is a defect in the part for this model year of the Altima. Second, if and when this piece does break or malfunction, there should be some sort of warning light on the dash to make the driver aware and pull over. Nissan is aware of my concerns as I have shared them with their consumer affairs department.

Pushed brake to start stopping, brakes shuttered. Let up on brake, then reapplied and it shuttered again. This continued. Checked brake fluid, it was down slightly, put in to fill. Problem better but still exists, now air compressor gone. . This car was bought in oct 2012 what a lemon. Thank goodness it is a lease. Noise under car since day bought. At 30 mph it sounds like something hits something under there. Dealer says, just nature of car. I do not buy that explanation.

Driving long distances my car overheats, looses power going from 70 mph down to 40 mph in high speed traffic. I am forced to get off the highway and let it reset itself. It has always made a whining noise during acceleration, and the brakes have squeaked from day one. I have complained to Nissan several times and am always been given lame excuses. Now that my warranty is up they have a solution to my problems. New transmission or overheat converter to the tune of $1600. How convenient they have a solution not that my car is out of warranty!! they refuse to help me or fix my car unless I fork over the money. My car has had problems since I purchased it and there was never any resolve. I purchased an extended warranty as I do a lot of driving. My car was out of warranty 2,000 miles when they miraculously found a cause and solution for my problem.

The paint on the hood came off in a chunk, during a car wash. It as reported to the dealer and Nissan directly. After they gave me the runaround for 6+ months, Nissan said it was not their problem, that it was an environmental issue. I have since had the car repaired. The hood needed to be taken down to bare metal, and repainted. The cost was over $500. 00. Now the roof is doing the same as the hood. I am not a happy Nissan owner.

Since new, battery goes dead if not driven for a few days. After a week vacation, battery dead. Parked in garage for a week, battery dead. Paid dealer $120 for complete check up - found nothing.
