The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a stop, the rpm became elevated, and the vehicle started accelerating unintendedly. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal and entered a parking lot where the vehicle lost automotive power, and the engine shut off. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,073.
I have taken the car to 3 mechanics for 4-5 incidents knowing that the mechanics were indeed certified in professionally fixing the issue. I was driving the car and made a proper left turn, yielding to oncoming traffic when suddenly the vehicle was unable to accelerate. The other car was approaching and I pushed on the gas as hard as I could to barely get it to move out of the way, luckily avoid a collision. The car died and will restart and drive another 11 miles, repeating the process. No mechanic has been able to properly identify the cause. Please understand, I could be that "lies" to individuals in order to sell the car, but do I really want to put another person's life at such a faulty incident? well, I recommend another recall on the issue, regardless of the cost because a little hood latch and a simple light compartment isn't anything like an unknown cause of malfunction stall towards driving in a hectic traffic.
Hello, I took my Nissan Altima into my local Nissan dealer for a hood latch recall on 11/13/2023. On 11/21/2023 at about 6:40 pm I was driving my car at a speed of maybe 45-50mph and my hood flew open hitting my windshield causing damage to my car, and scaring my son and I. I called the dealer the next morning and spoke to anthony from the service department regarding this situation, and he stated a faulty latch could have been put on my car, causing this to happen. I sent pictures to him via email, and he advised that he would contact the director and call me back with an update. I received a callback within hours advising Nissan would cover the damages but I would need to contact consumer affairs to see which location could do the repairs as they were behind by 8 month at that location in particular and could not provide me with a loaner car. After a week of waiting for an update from a dealer to confirm repairs, I had the car towed to the thomas Nissan of joliet on 12/4/2023 as the car would not accelerate anymore due to the hard brake. As of today 12/18/2023 I have spoken to the service manager there and he advised parts came in but they do not have a date for repairs or approval on the acceleration issue and for now will only repair the body. I advised that I am extremely saddened by the way I am being handled after such a traumatic ordeal that could have been deadly or life altering. This recall was supposed to prevent this issue, and it only caused it. This recall hasn't done anything to fix the cars, and neither have three other hood latch recalls for Altima cars. Altima drivers are in danger from hoods that suddenly fly open while driving, and this situation just proves a problem. Nissan doesn't know how to properly repair it, and my car and I are proof.
Im not sure what the malfunction. Is but I’ve been experiencing delayed acceleration. I can be at a stop light and when it turns green I hit the gas and it won’t go until about 4 seconds later. I’m afraid I will get hit in the back or hit when turning because the delay. This also happens at stop signs or when I’m simply pulling out somewhere. When I looked it up on google many Nissan Altimas are having the exact same problem. Also me and a relative have the same car and she’s been experiencing the same problem!.
There is a delay in acceleration. It won't accelerate whenever I want it too. Sometimes it won't do it even if I press the pedal all the way to the floor. When it engages the accelerator it would do it at a strong force. When the problem happens I would have to constantly press and depress the pedal so it won't engage with a strong force. It happens usually that I have noticed when at a stop position ready to start to move.
Experience delay acceleration on interstate 15. The vehicle will not speed up from about 55mph when pedal was full depress.
The original transmission on this car failed and I had it replaced at a Nissan dealership. In less than two years, the new transmission also failed. I was driving on the highway and transmission gave up and the vehicle would not accelerate putting my life and others' life in danger/unsafe. I contacted Nissan consumer/customer service and the case manager was not helpful and literally, stonewalled my concerns. Gross negligence by Nissan about the vehicle owners and their safety. The Nissan Altima cars that were manufactured between 2013-2015 are pure lemons.
P17f0 is the diagnostic code that I received after taking my 2013 Altima sv 2. 5 to a mechanic due to loss of power, horrible gas milage and a heavy vibration/rumbling noise coming from the front of my car.
I have 2013 Nissan Altima s. It has ~89k miles on it. The transmission stopped working on 10/11/2020. How can NHTSA assist? Nissan refused to provide any assistance. The cvts installed in the Nissan Altimas have caused a variety of problems - shaking, losing acceleration and stalling, among others - according to owners who are regularly posting complaints on websites such as autonews. Com, carcomplaints. Com, and cars. Com. Nissan Altima owners have secured a settlement offer from the carmaker which would resolve claims that the vehicles' transmissions fail prematurely. Lead plaintiffs alleged that 2013 through 2016 Nissan Altimas suffer from shuddering, hesitation, stalling, and noises stemming from defective continuous variable automatic transmissions. Vaccording to the Nissan class action, vehicles stall unexpectedly, causing them to stop in traffic without illuminating the brake lights. Vconversely, the defect could also allegedly cause an unexpected surge in power, causing drivers to lose control. Vvdespite consumer complaints, Nissan reportedly forced owners to pay for a $3,000 fix that often left them with more defective parts. Case # 42179365. Due to covid, my issue surfaced after 7 year deadline on may 11, 2020. This is wrong and Nissan will not take responsibility for it. I tried to work with madison at Nissan 615-725-7208. I am having the work done based on diagnosis from wright Nissan. The work will cost me about $3,500. Wiegand brothers transmission will replace the transmission. 445 rochester rd pittsburgh, PA 15237. 412-364-8000, 412-364-7399 email: wiegandtransmissions@yahoo. Com.
While driving down the road, approximately 3 miles into my drive, I stopped at a stop light. When I tried to accelerate, my car would not move. After 2-3 seconds it decided to accelerate. About another half mile down the road at the next stop light, it did it again. Each time, I was almost rear ended by cars behind me trying to get to the interstate. The car is now at the dealership being looked at.
Initially, the vehicle trembled and cut off at traffic light. Mechanic discovered that it threw a code with fluid pressure sensor issue in transmission. Replaced transmission with used one. . . Same code. Replaced that one with rebuilt transmission, throwing the same code. If trying to enter road, it may feel strong enough to enter highway, then losses throttle response. It may continue with about 20 mph speed. Then again, it may start off alright and becomes obvious at some speeds that the rpm is greater than it should be for the speed vehicle is moving. Nissan dealership has had vehicle for well over 2 weeks and have no answers. Asked them to check electrical and the computer, still no answers and hardly any communications at all. It is well documented that the cvt transmissions are a serious problem with these vehicles, but after the issues experienced, this could be a possible computer issue. Either way it is a very dangerous situation and a lot of money spent with no results.
While I am driving the car suddenly stop acceleration for 5 to 10 seconds then star accelerate again. This is very scary I checked online and I found that the problem reported in a lot of same model of the car this really very dangerous and could highly caused accident and injuries. Specially in the highway.
I have a 2013 Nissan Altima and my transmisson has started slipping, I have 100,000 miles on my car and have stayed on top of my mantince. Out of nowhere I get in my car and started driving it and it started jerking, shifting gears slowly and vibrating. I have had transmission flushes during my maintance check-ups. I took it for a diagnostic check and was told it was my sensors going bad. I get that fix to find out I need a transmission and to find out nissian are known for transmission problems. I am very unhappy about this due to how well I have taken care of my car. I contacted Nissan to ask about transmission recalls and was told no.
On 3/25/19 my 2013 Nissan Altima stalled while driving home from work on a city street. While driving to work the following day 3/26/19 during rush hour traffic on a city street my car shut off without warning while idle. There were no dash lights to indicate what was wrong with my car. The car starts but when it is placed in gear it shuts off again and again. This is a safety hazard, thankfully I was not on the freeway. I was finally able to get the car started and pulled into a gas station. I have to get my car towed to a dealership due to it shutting off.
I am the original owner of a 2013 Nissan Altima 4 cylinder, 4 door sedan. I purchased this vehicle new from a Nissan dealership. Approximately 3 months ago I noticed that my car was slow to accelerate after stopping at a traffic light or stop sign. The first time this happened I thought that I accidentally hit the side button on my gear shaft that put the car in a different mode. When this happened I was at a traffic light on a busy street. When I pressed the gas the car would not go. I pumped it several times and then it jerked and lunged forward. I went into a parking lot, turned off the car and waited a few minutes. I started the car again and drove it around the empty lot to check the brakes and acceleration. It seemed fine. This happened again several times and I thought that it may need an oil change or I had bad gas. I got an oil change and went to a different gas station for a fill up. The car seemed fine for a few weeks (however, I didn't drive it much). Then yesterday I drove the car over a 4 hour period. During hour 3 it began to have the same issues. I was stopped at a busy intersection during evening rush hour and the car would not accelerate. My passenger was quite concerned. The car jerked and lunged forward and I pulled over, turned the car off, waited and then started it again. Now the check engine light came on. This morning I took my car in to my mechanic and he pulled several codes from the car during the diagnostic exam (submitted). He said that it was the cvt transmission and it will cost $3,800 to repair! I called Nissan corporate and told them about my issue. The representative said that I had to take the car to a Nissan dealership, so I did. She opened a case to see if Nissan would cover the repairs. I am waiting for a 2nd diagnostic and approval from Nissan to cover these repairs as my car is only 5 years old.
I was driving on the highway, the car started making a strange noise, shifting hard and the check engine light came on. . . I decided to leave the highway as the car was losing speed. At the first light, the car stalled in the middle of the road. . . The trouble is that I did not realize until the light turned green and cars in from of me started moving and I couldn't almost got hit from behind by incoming cars. Ended up moving slowly to the side. Got the car towed to a Nissan dealer that advised that it a cvt failure. My car has 83k miles, Nissan is not willing to help.
Having issues accelerating (in motion) when driving the vehicle. Engine light came on. According to the mechanic when the system was checked, the problem/issue originates from the automatic transmission. After further investigation, this seems to be an issue with the Nissan Altima vehicles.
My 2013 Nissan Altima is stalling when being shifted into reverse or drive. The first instance that this happened, I was driving and slowing down at an intersection. The rpm's dropped, the car shook a little and it died. I had to put it into park and restart. I was able to make it about 2 miles away when it did it again, this time on a residential street thankfully. I tried about 5 times and was not able to move the vehicle, every time I shifted it into drive, it stalled. I had it towed to a local shop and they were not able to reproduce the issue. They did however tell me that this is a very common issue and gave me a print out from a mechanics forum showing many other vehicles like mine experiencing the same issue. I tried to drive it from the original shop to the Nissan dealer, it stalled in the middle of an intersection as I was trying to turn left. I had to restart, put it in neutral, give it gas and throw it into drive to make it through the intersection. Right after that, as I was driving through the neighborhood, I came to a stop and it stalled again, it continued to do this multiple times when putting it into drive. I had to have it towed again, this time to the dealer. The Nissan dealer is now telling me that they are unable to reproduce the problem and want me to pay for a software update. They 'think' it's the transmission but it is not giving any error codes, so they don't know for sure.
Reported to sheehy Nissan mechanicsville va foutr times. The vehicle braking system activates while driving at any speed (stability light activates). The brake light stays on when the vehicle is turned off. The accelerator touches the floor while traveling 45-60 mph loss of pressure. I was told to wait for the engine light to activate in order to use the extended warranty gold plan. I was charge $93 for a scan of the computer, then it was purged. The fob system is not recognizing the keys and I was charged for checking and reprogramming keys. Fob keys still lose the programs while driving.
After leasing the car for about 4 months, the car developed an issue at 83,000 mile mark. When attempting to turn left or right from standstill the car stalls. I would press down the gas pedal all the way down and the car would not move or accelerate until 6 seconds or so later. Sometimes the car doesn't move at all until I move the steering wheel back and forth. From this I can infer it has to do with the power steering or something electrical. It only happens when the steering wheel is turned halfway or more at a stop. Kinda like a power outage at that since all the lights dim and sometimes even the hvac fan speed goes down while while the car is unable to move. This is extremely dangerous as I was trying to make a left turn while there was a pause in opposite traffic and the car just rolled a little and stopped since I depressed the brake pedal while accelerator pedal did absolutely nothing until I straightened the steering wheel. After my car rolled out into oncoming traffic I could of easily gotten in a crash if the oncoming cars didn't slow down for me. This happens pretty randomly but only when trying to turn from a stop. I can't any longer trust the car as its pretty dangerous especially when trying to merge with fast moving traffic.
Takata recal: I have a 2013 nissian Altima and when I push the gas pedal it doesn't accelerate like it supposed to. For an exapmle when I push the gas pedal all the way to the floor it doesn't do anything. This happens about two or three times when I'm driving in a 20minute span. Also, when I turn off my car (it has a push start) my break lights are on. When I turn it off I don't have to push the break and push the start button. (the car thinks I'm stepping on the break).
When first starting the car the rpms start jumping. Wen u go to put it in gear it cluncks. And when I go to accelerate it wont go faster than 40. (gas pedal to the floor).
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. When the accelerator pedal was applied, the vehicle was slow to pick up speed and the gears were slow to change over. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,233.
I bought a Nissan Altima 2013. Back in February the car would start and would shut off when I put it on drive and reverse. This happen in the middle of the street. I took it to the dealership and left it there for a month and they still were not able to tell me what was wrong with the car. Even though a technician duplicated the problem the car computer would still say the car is fine . I took it to get a second opinion from a Nissan master technician and they weren't able to tell me what was wrong with the car. After about a month the car started working again. I was told by a 3rd place I took the car that it might be a sensor issue and the car literally decides when's going to work and not and that this is an on going issue iwth the Altima. A couple of days ago the car would took off with me at a red light when I just tap the gas. I was at a red light the light turn green I tp the gas the rpms jumped ad the accelarated in high speeds. Also the car would not go forward or backwards after I put it in reverse immidiately, it would stay idel for about 5 ten seconds than go. The Nissan dealership has not been able to diagnose that anything is wrong with my car he computers keeps saying the cr is fine. I have told Nissan headquaters that I feel unsafe when I'm driving the car. Looking online I see that this a on going defect with the Altima 2013 that Nissan refuses to address. I have called Nissan and told them that this car is defective and im starting to feel its putting my life and someone s with this carelse in danger and there response was basically tough luck. Right now the car is cranking but not start . I feel like Nissan did a poor job with this car and it should have been sold.
Intermittently the car is completely shutting off while driving on the road. The engine starts vibrating while slowing down or braking and turns off. It will start immediately7-8 times in a row but will turn turn off as soon as the transmission is put into drive. This has happened 5-6 times in the past 2 weeks. We have taken this to the Nissan dealer only for them to tell us they can't fix it because there are no codes showing up! our concern is the number of other people who have complained about the same issue and there is no recall for whatever is causing this.
I simply turned on my car when the rpm and speed gauge went out of control from 0 to max in stationary mode, the car was parked in my garage spot. This process occurred several times in a row, along with this the car engine was extremely loud making roaring noises and shuddering and vibratign. When I put my foot on the brake pedal nothing happened the car continued with the rpm and speed gauge cycling from 0 to max, I did not feel safe to attempt to drive the car. Last month I had to have the car service because it would not accelerate while I was on the freeway the max speed on the car was 30 miles per hour. I got off the highway immediately and the car turned off when I parked it on the street. It took 3 attempts to finally turn on. The car did this again on a second occurrence before I could get it to the dealer, I was driving on the street and again the same issue occurred. The car stalls, jerks, vibrates on its own at random times. Each time I have had my preventive services done at the dealer the car is in near perfect condition and nothing can be diagnosed, then the car has these incidents occur with no warning.
Driving at the rate of 45 miles per hour. My 2013 Nissan Altima 3. 5 sl start surging going faster than the speed limit. I applied on brakes pushing them down to the floor my car hit a 2013 durango SUV on the driver side knocking the rear wheel completely off. My car still surging faster on a congested high-way to avoid causing any fatalities my car spend around three times. Before coming to a stop. No air bag deployed on my driver's side occupant seat was unoccupied. My Nissan Altima 3. 5 sl was a total loss, a-frame severely damage beyond repair. The seat beast on the driver side turn my large intestine, several feature bilateral pelvic bone, whip lash, neurological disturbance, (l) torn rotator cuff, spinal cord injury where partial paralysis have start to set in my legs. Irreversible nerve damage, poor sight, broken teeth whereas; I have to get them all pulled out & go into the hospital to have a complete mouth of implants. The seat belt was so tight that it torn a muscle in my chest cavity (l) side causing my heart not to fill up completely. Seeing a psychiatrist after the aftermath of the incident, gastrointestinal doctor, pain specialist,.
The contact owned a 2013 Nissan Altima. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle revved and accelerated without warning. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle did not respond. As a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The driver sustained injuries to the pelvic, both legs, head, teeth, and. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.
This is a combination of problems. Approximately around Nov. 7, 2015 the check engine light came on while at the dealer (almost one year after the last time). I have not owned my vehicle 2 years yet. I thought they had taken care of it when they told me the light shouldn't come back on. They said the code was for reprogramming the mass air system. About 2 weeks later the same light came on but this time I lost acceleration again while getting on the freeway. I had a couple of close calls on being rear-ended while having my son in the car. I had to get off immediately and drive down to the dealer which took me it seemed forever because it would barely move. I had to leave the vehicle as it was closing. The following day I was called and told that it required reprogramming of the mass air system. I had them do it but it took them 1 day to return the vehicle to me. About 2 days later the check engine light came back on again and I took it back to the same dealer. This time finding the problem wasn't as easy. They kept my vehicle for 3 days before letting me know that I needed to have the throttle chamber replaced. Really now. . . Check engine light on a total of 2 times in 1 year + 2 more time in another year, 1 alternator replaced in 1 year , 1 throttle chamber replaced in almost 2 years, leaking rear shocks in 1 year and Nissan does nothing to replace my vehicle which is a constant safety hazard for me and my family.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the air condition unit failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was informed that the transmission and air condition unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that while driving and pulling into a parking space there was an abnormal electrical odor coming through the air condition vents. The contact stated the vehicle caught on fire. The contact stated that while trying to exit the vehicle, the door handle failed to work. The contact was able to exit the vehicle through the driver's side window. The vehicle was towed an independent mechanic. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 31,898. Ah.
While driving, the vehicle stalls when the accelerator is depressed and does not respond no matter how much the pedal is depressed. The accelerator must be depressed a second or third time for the engine and the car to respond. I have had several near miss accidents due to sluggish or nonresponsive acceleration. The sluggish and nonresponsive acceleration occurs without warning and can be on a flat or incline surface.
Not 2 years yet of ownership and my car decides to not accelerate on me. I would have to floor it to get it to finally kick in and drive until I stopped at the next light. There were no warning lights or anything letting me know of any problems. Had 2 near collisions with my family in the car trying to get my car to the dealer to have it checked out. Dealer thought it was transmission and alternator but upon warranty rep diagnosing vehicle, it was decided that it needed a new alternator. Was without my vehicle for almost 3 days but put in a rental from their dealer which wasn't any better with a constant noise while driving. A couple of months later the same thing happened again as I was getting on the freeway after work with my son. Had to get off and drive to the dealer. Apparently, they fixed the wrong thing. A few days after picking up my vehicle from getting the check engine light fixed, the check engine light went on again. Didn't note anything major while driving but was just awful having to take back the vehicle when I had just picked it up literally 2-3 days before. The dealer kept my vehicle through the holidays and it took them 3 days to determine what was wrong with it. I was finally told that I needed a throttle chamber replaced. Was never told what the part was responsible for doing and why it wasn't found when they had it previously. Still not 2 years of owning the vehicle. Personally, too many issues with my 2013 Altima vehicle in less than 2 years and Nissan consumer affairs keeps washing their hands of any defect or lemon law. These things which I have experienced are not little or minor by no means and have endangered myself and my family, especially the incidents with the alternator and the mas sensor. Need someone with common sense and a true feeling of caring for their customer's safety to replace my vehicle before something worse happens.
Wild I was driving it just stop and forcing to start when have it check they say said its gas pump with other serval problem , I recently bought the car not even after three months it start gave those problem , now it have been sitting for almost a year now without driving , I still makes my payment every month , I can't have you guys a exact date wen it really happend buth I really need a investigation for the car as soon as possible my cell number (754)235-9535. Thank you.
Transmission shudders during acceleration, generally between 1st and 2nd gear thus hesitation occurs when entering higher speed lanes. (I. E. A momentary hesitation in power during acceleration).
I have these issues everyday driving this car. Shuttering at low rpm when accelerating or decelerating, noticeable delay in gears shifting when shuttering is occurring between 1200 and 1800 rpm. Rpm's increase rapidly(sharp spike) when car is going down hill but does not allow the car to gain speed. The ramping of rpm's is loud and resembles when you hit gas to accelerate to enter a highway only you are not getting the acceleration in speed. Also coming up hill the car gives off a burning smell. I have not located the source of the burning smell and it goes away after going back to flatter terrain for awhile. The smell lingers enough to cause concern.
