general problems of the 2014 Nissan Altima

It smells like gas when I start the car. It's also wasting alot of gas. I have to put gas every couple of days. I spend more money putting gas. The steering and suspension and the tires keep giving me problems to where the brakes locked up on their own and now it drives really bad especially on the freeway. The steering wheel moves alot when I'm on the freeway sometimes feel like I'm loosing control of the car. The gas pedal gets stuck and the gear shift gets stuck in park. I have to use a nail filer the metal ones and push and hold the shift lock for it to move into gear. The car keeps saying key not detected even tho it's in the car with me. I just got the car from a small dealership in pomona in April of 2023.

I just bought a 2014 nisson Altima as is from a Nissan dealer. As the car warms up I,m getting carbon monoxide fumes coming into the car. Car was purchased at Nissan dealership as is! I took it to an auto shop and according to the computer it doesn,t show any dash light warnings and cannot find the source of the problem. The car cost me $23,000. 00! rich davis.

• fuel and electrical system failure • vehicle caught fire on I-10 in grandbay, al while driving. • no • there was a police report filed and a claim filed with my insurance company but I only had liability. • all the lights on dash came on prior to the car catching fire. I have suffered total loss!!!.

On my 2014 Nissan Altima, sometimes from a stop when accelerating there is a delay. Rpm's do not go up, just no movement. But if you leave the gas pedal engaged when the motor decides to work it hits hard. The danger is entering traffic. It's very scary. If it was to happen to my wife she would panic and press the accelerator more and that also creates a whole different situation. . . I have read that "Nissan" is not claiming any responsibility for this problem and actually hasn't fixed any customers cars because they cannot recreate this failure! thank you, tom.

While driving the car will suddenly jerk and starts to shake and when pressing the gas the car will not accelerate so I have had to turn on emergency lights to not get hit in the back the rpm goes up but not the mph.

Engine shuts off while driving. . Replaced crankshaft and camshaft position sensor, replaced throttle body, spark plugs, same problem.

Pulled into a handicap parking place, all of a sudden the car accelerated forward at a high speed. Knocking down the handicap sign and went through a store glass window. We sat there in shock not nothing what just happened. The police arrived and a said it must have been the gas pedal, they assume since I was a older person that I had stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake. I know I had my foot on the brake. I feel this is differently a recall problem. Nissan has had this problem since 2000 and no one has done anything about it. I have lost my license and my insurance over this. Please take this matter seriously! what if this was a school crosswalk and children were going across. I worked in the hospital for 47 years now it's time for me to travel and enjoy my retirement. I can't even go to the doctors or grocery stores. Please save our children and our community. The vehicle was in park at the time this happed.

The headlights are very bad at night I have changed out with new ones 5 times. Also the steering have to keep being corrected when driving car wants to go into other lanes I had 2 wheel alignments in still no help.

I purchsed this car Feb 2nd 2019 couple days later engine light comes on so car has 30day warranty so I call and they had me go there mechanic put in the shop. A code for 02 sensors came up but he say he just need replace Cadillac converter he didnt need replace sensors so 5 days later I pick up car and 3 days after light comes back on I call complain on way coming from another city hour away and noticing car jerking and loosing power on hwy on way mechanic car breaks down im stranded with baby for hour they tow they shop say it was fuel. Pumps I get car thinking things good I make a 300 paymemt since I still owed 1500 on down payment days later light comeson again smoke comes out back car when I start. It. In morning car jerks back real hard when I get on hwy or hesitate pick up speed engine making rattling noise and oil pressure sensor on I take it for 2nd opnion before taking back there mechanic and the thing they suppose fix still shows need be fix mass air flow sensor and then oil pressure sensor and spark plus so I tell mechanic did yall even fix mass flpw sensor cause same code pop up he says some times new parts can act faulty but dont worry we fix it. Got warranty but he gotta ask permission about spark plugs and oil pressure sensor so he ask me when I can come in I say Friday the night before my appt car breaks down 40 min. On hwy car looses power lights dont work head lighs dont work car key wont open doors or trunk and im getting I key system error I go replace battery that didnt help so Saturday they tow car and send me a repo letter since im behind payment cause im not gonna keep paying on car thats breaking down leaving me stranded at this point I gave them 3 tries so I just want my 1500 plus 300 back even tho warranty expired I did adress this 3 times before it expired.

The air bag light came on showing the airbag for the driver is no longer working. I thought there was a recall on it since I have heard and read online this has been a common problem. Same with the engine light glitch I have read is a common problem which doesn't allow my car to accelerate properly when that light is on.

The dealership informed me of the recalls. I was told to contact them as soon as possible. To set up an appointment to get it checked.

I have number of problems with my vehicle - 2014 Altima sl. Several times after stop and go traffic the transmition stopes switching gears (speeds). It gets stuck on a first gear equivalent in cvt transmition. The fix is to restart the vehicle, abviously this could be dangerous on the road where there are no places to stop. Another major problem is a head unit (navigation, radio, etc). It restarts by itself now and than, sometimes right in a middle of the highway when I'm trying to figure out what exit to take and I need the gps guidence. Its absolutely unrelable. I'm not complaining about the quality of the software here that is terrible, by the way, but in any situation it should not restart by itself! another problem, as mentioned by others, is mileage. I get much less miles as advertised! this is my first and last Nissan!.

Vehicle is driven several miles so the engine is warm. Three times the car has stalled when stopping at a light or slowing at an intersection to make a left turn. When moving from the waiting position the car will stall and as an oncoming car is coming poses a left threatning situation as it will not move forward immediately. Car has been taken to Nissan dealership 2 times and both times nothing shows on the computer. Also, the car was driven the last time and the stall is not replicated. Because the problem is not replicated nisaan refuses to admit there is a problem with the car although a life is in jepordy due to the danger of making a left had turn in front of traffice when there is ample time to make the turn. I have spoken to the national office and they refuse to do anything since the computer says the car is not broken.

When I turn the ignition nothing happens. All I hear is a click where the car is trying to ignite. After trying several times it finally cranks up and start. I've had the battery checked and have taken it to Nissan for a diagnostic test and both came back negative. Not sure what the problem but it is happening more frequent now since the first time it happened in November 2013 and again in April 2014. If the issue isn't showing up after paying $85 for a diagnostic test at Nissan, I wonder if others are experiencing this issue.

Vehicle wanders and does not keep in a straight line. It is not stable . There is lot of wind noise coming inside and there is always a sloshing sound and believe it is the fuel. Not safe as the fuel always bangs around the walls.

This car makes a lot of noises when stopping at most speeds! you can hear gas moving around inside of the car like your at the beach sounds like waves hitting up against a boat docked! has been to several dealerships and no one will own up to it including Nissan customer services! I'm worried for my safety and others!.
