When I come to a complete stop my transmission completely gives out and I have to cut off my car in traffic to restart the transmission. This happens as long as I'm driving my car. I bring it to the dealership and they say they can't find anything wrong. Just a disgrace.
Shaking, automatic slowing speed, pick up takes time, engine light on dealer said transmission issue cost 4850 plus tax. This is Nissan Altima 2016 only 71000. This is absolutely killing consumer finance. Never ever Nissan again.
Check engine light came on around same time car began to exhibit acceleration issues, like stalling, slipping into 2nd gear, and engine cut out when accelerating during both normal city and highway driving. Sensors read by certified mechanic, and dealership indicated oxygen sensor failure and the dealership replaced the cvt transmission and the O2 sensor. After repairs and part replacements, 2 weeks later all of these problems began to reoccur. Several mechanic recommended getting rid of the car as they can not resolve the issues and don't want to waste my time or money. Contact art's automotive in berkeley California.
Check engine light came on twice within 3 months of using this car. And it was one of the severe types of illness the car has, if not fixed I could've been stuck on a remote area with no phone reception, which where I live by the way. The car had a slow acceleration, when I stopped on a stop light/sign. Had that fixed on December right before christmas week, but engine light came on again after 2 weeks of driving it, car won't shift gears again, slow acceleration, probably has something to do with its transmission etc.
I have a 2016 Nissan Altima with 85,000 miles that is currently experiencing some issues. I've found multiple people online that are having the same problem. The vehicle at times when pushing down the accelerator will not respond then suddenly take off like it's in 3rd gear. This has caused me too get stuck in intersections with no power and nearly causing accidents. Nissan is saying there is no issue. How can this not be a safety recall?.
Accelerating onto the highway on yesterday my check engine light cane on as well and my traction control light which caused my car to lose power. I was able to get right back off the freeway and turn into a neighborhood. When I turned the car off and back on it started with the same lights on. I had my transmission rebuilt at 73,000 miles with a 12,000 mile warranty already but I don't think that my transmission is the issue this time. I had to get my car towed to the Nissan of grapevine dealership again because I refuse to drive the car with my 3 month old and sixteen year old in the car.
Started vehicle this morning and put in reverse and pressed the pedal to back out and had a delayed reaction and the rpm's just increased. The car did not move for approximately four to five seconds and finally backed out. Placed the car in drive and drove toward a stop sign approximately 100 yards away and it seemed like it was losing power as I tried to accelerate and again the rpm's increased but seemed like it would not move. Drove vehicle back home and with same issues and parked for about thirty minutes. Tried to duplicate but drove just fine. This has happened before while at a red light about a couple of months ago. Tried accelerating and would barely accelerate like it had no power. Placed in park, cut the car off and back on and after a few minutes, I hit the accelerator and it darted off. Luckily, there has been no accidents but have concerns if this happens while on a highway. This Altima on has over 53k miles and have no idea why this is happening because I am not a mechanic but have read several statements on the internet from others with the same issue. Not sure why Nissan has not placed a recall on this issue but is very unsafe.
On multiple occasions, after coming to a complete stop vehicle would not accelerate after pushing the accelerator. In addition to this now the transmission will not up shift for road speed. Vehicle, when placed in park or neutral, will rev up when accelerator is pushed but not while transmission is engaged in drive. Again the acceleration problem has occurred multiple times over the past 4-6 months. The shifting episode occurred in addition to the afore mentioned problem today 20 oct 2019.
I was on the highway and the car started jerking like it didn't want to go and I got off the highway because it was unsafe. . Made it to a stop light and the car didn't want to go. . But it went after a couple of tries. . I went shopping and got back on the highway to head home and the check engine light comes on and went to get it looked at and they tell me a lot of the Nissan are having this same problem and it's the transmission which cost a lot of money. . I have around 75,000 miles on my Nissan Altima.
I purchased this car for my wife to drive her and our three children. Something was going on making the car stall when pressing the gas and sometimes accelerate. The rpm would go all the way up even when taking foot off the gas pedal. I took the car to the Nissan dealership in newark delaware and they kept it for a week. I believe they said they had to repair something on the transmission. Whatever was wrong they covered it under warranty. After a week we got the car back and my wife drove to new jersey to visit family with the kids about 45 minutes away. While coming back on the delaware memorial bridge the car rpm rose all the way up making the car accelerate behind another car almost ramming the back of another car. Shaken from what just happened she drove slow and careful the rest of the way home about 10 minute drive from the bridge. I tried to check it out myself because we just got it back after a week so it should not be having anymore trouble but the car then would not start. The battery died from trying to start it. After all that we did a voluntary surrender due to the car not being safe. She felt if she and the kids got back in it she would just be asking for something bad to happen. It only had about 39000 miles so should not be having problems with it.
I was driving on a city street at 30 miles an hour, when I approached the intersection to take a tight hand turn I was yielding for oncoming traffic completely stopped . When I went to slightly move forward to see if I had the right away my car jolted forward. Just sped up and would not respond to DE acceleration. I almost crashed into children crossing a side walk. The acceleration was completely out of my control. This has happened a couple other times just not as significant. I did notice it's happening whole my ac is on.
As my family and I were driving on the highway the vehicle started to drop speed from 70 miles to about 10 miles per hour. As I tried to speed up by accelerating, the speed would not go higher and would just continue to drop. The vehicles behind me were able to see I was having difficulty and would slow down when they got close and go around me, so I am glad no accidents happened since we were driving in heavy traffic in high speed when this started to occur. We drove like this for about 45 minutes since we were driving back home from out of town. At some points it felt as the vehicle was about to turn off while were driving on the highway. It would jerk while driving and speed up on it's own as well at times. When I got off the highway and came to a red light the car said it was going 60 miles per and I was driving about 5 miles per hour. It would not break as I stepped on the break, taking it a while to respond. When the light turned green the car was not moving after I accelerated, and after a while start to move slowly and gain speed very slowly. An error also appeared but I don't remember what it displayed.
When I am stopped (at a stop sign, traffic light, etc. ) the car hesitates to accelerate when I press the gas. It sometimes takes 5 to 7 seconds before the car will begin to accelerate. This happens randomly, and there is no warning. There have been instances when the rpms rev up extremely high and the car feels like it is struggling to maintain speed. I have taken it to the Nissan dealership, and since they can't reproduce the issue, and nothing shows up when they run diagnostics, they have stated that there is nothing they can do. I purchased my car brand new and currently it has 46,000 miles, and I currently don't feel safe when driving it. This has been randomly happening for months.
The car stalls and hesitates when trying to accelerate from full stop. When you push the pedal it does nothing, for the first few moments, then it pushes hard. I have almost been in an accident.
My vehicle stalls whenever I am stopped, and will not move , then it accelerate really fast, sometimes it loses speeds in which I can not accelerate the vehicle. I have taken this vehicle to 3 mechanical shops and no can tell me what the problem is. I have had this problem since I purchased the vehicle.
While already in motion the vehicle accelerated extremely slowly once again as I have reported on this website before, but this time it was more dangerous because as I was merging onto the freeway, I was pressing on the accelerator and when the rpm got to 2000, it stopped and the vehicle was accelerating extremely slow. There was a 18 wheel truck approaching me fast from behind, but I could not get any speed. Luckily he swerved on to the next lane and passed me. The rpm meter stopped at 2000 and it took 22 seconds to get from 60 mph to 75mph as the video shows. It happened several more times during this drive and I was able to record each instance panning from the gauge display to the accelerator showing I am pressing it all the way down and the vehicle doesn't respond. I took the vehicle to Nissan and when I showed the video to the service representative, he immediately tried to blame the issue on my floor mats. He said that it appears the floor mats were preventing the accelerator from going down thus causing the vehicle to not gain speed. However I explained to him that that is not the case as the floor mat was not touching the accelerator at all. You can clearly see my foot pressing it down all the way without any interference from the mat. In addition, if the floor mat was preventing the accelerator from being pushed all the way down as he claims, how is it possible for the vehicle to continue to gain speed, all be it extremely slow? that right there proves his theory wrong because if the accelerator was indeed stopped by the mat, then the mph as well as the rpm would maintain at the same rate. I also reminded him that this happened on a local street when I was only going 35 mph and the accelerator would have been no where near the floor board. Nissan advised me they were able to duplicate the issue and are contacting Nissan tech support for direction.
At random times while driving vehicle will shut off causing sudden decrease in speed, then restart on it's own within 10-15 seconds. When car shuts off all dash lights turn off and there's no throttle response. The last time it shut off I was going around a bend and caused car to collide with guard rail.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. While driving 45-55 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal for approximately 25 seconds with no response. Suddenly, the vehicle lunged forward. The vehicle was taken to mtn view Nissan (2100 south market street, chattanooga, TN 37408, (423) 756-1500), but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
I was driving my vehicle, an when I would start from 1st gear my vehicle would shake when taking off. I had taken it in to the Nissan dealership to have them take look at it. The tech had told me it was the transmission. I've had them log that info. Now it's future and that problem had escalated to where it still does the shaking but alot worse. Now it doesn't want to shift out of 2nd gear. At the time of me driving the vehicle I was on the freeway and the vehicle had slipped out of gear an it seemed as it came out of gear an dropped to a lower gear almost causing a major accident.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. While depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and failed to drive smoothly on occasion. The vehicle was taken to olympia Nissan (2220 carriage st sw, olympia, wa 98502), but was not diagnosed. While driving at an unknown speed, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted and accelerated independently. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. Also, while the vehicle was being driven, the rpms accelerated and the vehicle failed to operate. The contact mentioned that the speed increased to 40 mph. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.
My transmission stopped working while I was driving first in the city and it continued to when I went on the highway to the point I had no power and the when I pressed the gas nothing would happen. I had to have the computer in the transmission replaced and the car still idles as if it will cut off at any moment. That was at 40k and I just had to replace the O2 sensor at 60k.
