1 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2026

A truck was turning without signaling and we were passing on right side assuming he was turning left- and he suddenly jerked right causing major impact and sent us into ditch where we were stopped by impacting a solid fence.

2 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2025

The airbag system failed to deploy during a collision. The vehicle is currently in not my possession. The airbag control module, sensors, and airbags themselves can be inspected to determine the cause of non-deployment. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my safety was put at significant risk because the airbags did not deploy during the impact. This increased the potential for serious injury to the driver and passengers during the crash, as the airbags are a critical part of the vehicle’s safety system designed to prevent head and chest injuries. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? not yet. The vehicle has not been inspected by my insurance and considered totaled. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? a police report was filed for the accident, and my insurance company has been notified. The vehicle has been inspected by insurance, but both parties have been informed of the issue and an inspection has been taken place 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warning lights or airbag system messages appeared prior to the crash. The airbag light on the dashboard was functioning normally before the accident, and there were no indications of a malfunction with the safety restraint system.

3 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2024

On Feb 04/24 I was getting to go to the store when I started my car and seat belt and supplemental air bag warning light came on. I have tried to contact dealer representative and no call back or respond my e-mail. My brother stop by dealer and they want me to pay $200 just to make a diagnosis. I will give you my name and information but share only if need it.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

Desconocidos.

5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2023

The occupant detection sensor unit on my car has malfunctioned for the 3rd time. My car has never been in an accident or have had the air bags deployed. The first incident was November 2021 with 24,163 miles. The dealer performed a zero-point reset. The second incident was January 2023 with 53,665 miles. The dealer again performed a zero-point reset but charged $170. 03 to repair. The dealer told me this is not covered by my extended warranty. The dealer told me if it happened again they would have to replace the sensor and it will cost approximately $1000 - and it is not covered by my Nissan vsc extended warranty. Now it malfunctioned for the 3rd time in may 2023 with 57,155 miles. This appears to be a known issue for Nissan with TSB ntb19-071. I am frustrated that Nissan is asking for payment to replace a faulty sensor that affects air bag deployment in an accident. I believe this is a safety issue that Nissan should pay to replace. My ask is for Nissan to recall these vehicles or voluntarily replace the faulty sensors at no cost to the vehicle owner.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2022

The contact owned a 2019 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 mph and making a left turn, another vehicle crashed into the front driver side of the vehicle. All the air bags did deploy. The contact stated the driver side air bag deployed under the steering wheel caused him to fracture his right leg and his right knee. The contact sought medical attention at a hospital for 11 days and had surgery on his right leg. The contact also stated his front passager had injuries caused by the seat belt. The front passenger sought medical attention and had surgery to have a small portion of her bowel removed. A police report was filed. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to the insurance company's tow yard. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,812.
